Moët & Chandon

Moët & Chandon (pronounced Moh-et & Chan-dawn) are a household name known around the world as the premier producers of Champagne and fine wine. A bottle of exquisite sparkling wine from Moët & Chandon is the perfect way to turn any event into a celebration. The French winery was first established in 1743 by Claude Moët under the name Moët et Cie (which simply means Moët & Co. in French). Their name was changed in 1833 after Pierre-Gabriel Chandon married Claude Moët’s great-granddaughter, Adélaïde Moët, and joined the winemaking family.

discover the distinctive elegance of this iconic brand

The lush Moët & Chandon vineyards are located throughout the French Champagne region with their wine cellars located in Épernay. Today, the Moët & Chandon wine makers combine the traditional art of winemaking with state-of-the art technology to create the perfect wine. Every step in the process from nurturing the chalk soils and the natural qualities of the fruit, to combining the knowledge of vine growers, vintners, cellarists, and oenologists unifies to create a premium wine like no other.

Moët & Chandon create their distinctive champagnes by combining three different types of grapes: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The combination of these three grape varietals is considered essential to produce a perfect champagne with the right level of fruitiness, a sumptuous palate, and elegant maturity.

Australia’s favourite celebration wine is the Moët Impérial. It was first produced in 1869 and continues to be Moët & Chandon’s most iconic and best-selling champagne. Joining the collection is their Rosé Impérial, which adds the allure of red fruits and berries with floral nuances of rose. And Moët & Chandon’s Ice Impérial, which was the first champagne especially created to be enjoyed chilled over ice.

The most famous of Moët & Chandon’s wines is their premium Dom Pérignon prestige vintage champagne. Dom Pérignon was named for the 17th century Benedictine monk considered as the ""Father of Champagne"". The first vintage of Moët & Chandon’s Dom Pérignon was made in 1921 and released for sale in 1936.

Dom Pérignon is always made as a blend of the highest quality Pinot noir and Chardonnay grapes. Moët & Chandon’s experienced vintners produce the premium vintage champagne only in the best grape seasons, and using only grapes harvested in the same year, with every vintage aged for at least 12 years.

As the world's best-selling champagne, Moët & Chandon is acknowledged as the best choice for any special occasion or milestone celebration. If you are looking for the perfect wine to toast at a wedding, engagement party, graduation, or promotion a bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne says 'congratulations!' in the best way possible. Or for a little extra luck, set the scene for the perfect marriage proposal with a fine Moët & Chandon wine. A bottle of Moët & Chandon Imperial is also the perfect gift to give when celebrating a successful contract settlement or to say thank you to a corporate client.
