Not only will their small and intimate class learn the art to rustic farmhouse cheeses, but enjoy morning and afternoon tea, a beautiful provided lunch complete with wine, and take home their own personally designed cheese; near Perth.


For some, soft and creamy wins out every time, for others they need a something with a bit more substance – a harder texture with a little bit of bite! Hard cheeses are those beautiful decadent treats, found beautifully poised on a cheese board with a mixture of gorgeous additions to be enjoyed with some drinks, chats and laughs with friends and family. Our Farmhouse Cheese Making Course is open to those of any skills level – from absolute beginner cheese lover to expert, with the only criteria being a passion and dedication of a serious cheese maker!

This full day course found only 30 minutes from Perth city, includes both morning and afternoon tea with delicious barista made coffee, tea and nibbles; a full lunch of mixed gourmet rustic cheeses with accompaniments and house made wine from the onsite winery; firm cheese tastings spanned throughout the day; their very own “The Cheese Maker” apron to take home and use time and time again; and possibly the best part, their very own personally made block of rustic farmhouse cheese created in the lesson, and a copy of their own guide book, “Farmhouse Home Cheese Making Guide” to ensure they feel inspired to have their new hobby on the go constantly.

Their passionate and cheese-loving teacher will guide them on a journey all the way from fresh cow’s milk to semi-hard cheese, where students will then take it home and age it to their liking. After 6 weeks it will be ready to consume, or if left longer, can mature to their own version of cheese perfection! Instructions on how to care for it until it is ready will be explained, as will how to add many different flavours to their farmhouse cheese, should they want something extra in there – explaining which flavours will work, and which that won’t.

For some, leaving it plain and refined to pair with their favourite antipasto mix or a simple cracker is more than enough. For others they can choose from a huge range of flavours and combinations available to add to their take home cheese – think smoked paprika to be devoured later with some grilled chorizo; think chilli and garlic, or aromatic spices like fennel or cumin – all available to add to their liking.

Students will also be given expert advice on identifying and looking after the basic equipment needed to create cheese from home, so they can choose what is best for them for the types of cheese they want to make!
