Wilsons Promontory Day Trip from Melbourne
‘The Prom’ as it is known to many people, is one of Victoria’s most loved and cherished natural attractions. Located at the southernmost region of mainland Australia, this wildlife haven will inspire and intrigue even the most discerning traveller, with its panoramic views, pristine white beaches, coastal forests, cool climate rainforests and well-preserved walking tracks.
The prom is home to many marsupials, such as kangaroo’s and wombats, native birds and other native animals such as emus, which with a bit of luck you are able to see up-close. The best way to explore the Prom is on foot, so you will no doubt enjoy your stroll along some spectacular tracks and be entertained by the pure white quartz ‘singing sands’ of Squeaky Beach. An opportunity is available to enjoy either a rainforest walk at Lilly Pilly Rainforest or amazing panoramic views offered on the Verekers Outlook track, or Mount Bishop track (easy to medium graded walks).

Perfect trip. I can recommend it to everybody.
you will see probably wildlife animals. We had luck to see kangaroo/wallaby, emu, wombat.
After simple uphill walk you will have beautiful look on beach, ocean, near small islands...
We were just small group of 20 people so it is also good for those who dont like crowds.
I can recomment this to everybody who want to see beautiful nature of australia and dont have possibility to go with own car, or dont know where can go.
Just take some lunch and water with you, because this is whole day trip and there is no time for stopping in restaurants :
Great Price awesome driver, so much information on the way and there. So much easier than driving yourself as you learn heaps and sit back and relax.
Extremely highly recommend!!!!!
Great day out!
Very different from the tours that I have been before. Would recommend everyone to try it.
Amazing tour. Wilson Prom is beautiful and this is like the only day tour to take you to see the wonders of Wilsons Prom! Would highly recommend to anyone who is near Melbourne and wants a day out of the city to do some hiking and see some wonderful views
A good tour well presented by our guide. Travel is by minibus rather than coach and slightly less comfortable. It's a long day with considerable walking including up a mountain so fitness and good shoes are required. The Promontory offers close-ups of local wildlife roaming free including wombats and stunning views from the top of the mountain that you climb for lunch.
This tour was amazing!
Saw wild Kangaroo's out on the range, even saw a Mama Kanga with baby in pouch, that was unforgettable! Wilsons Prom breath taking, our guide was great!
Tour guide provided excellent knowledge of area and it cultural history with great commentary throughout the trip.
Enjoyed excellent views, good weather and 15km hike through the park. A worth while day tour that drive you back for more!
One of the best day trips I ever had.
The guide was knowledgeable and understanding and made this tour even more fun.
The landscape will take away your breath and I would love to go again and show my friends.
You get more than money can ever pay for :
A memory that will be with you all your life.
Best day out of the city!!!
Great tour! I was very satisfied and amazed with this tour. Hike up to Mt.Oberon Summit was a bit challenging but the view is definitely worth it. A stop at Nelson's beach and Squeaky beach was gorgeous. And then a stop to view kangaroo's, emu's, and wombats in the wild was definitely a highlight!! Would definitely recommend this trip! Tour guide, Macca, was also very easy going and knowledgable.
Amazing places, amazing people and guide !!! Perfect for people who like hiking!!!
Simon was a fantastic guide! His love and passion for the area was catching. We enjoyed all his personal stories. The mountain view was spectacular and the beaches were pristine.
An excellent trip made al the better by an enthusiastic and thoroughly professional driver/guide Peter. This far surpassed a 2 day trip I did in Melbourne with another provider who were very poor so use this company for this and other trips if you want VFM.
This was a great trip. There were wild animals all over including emus, a wombat and a wallaby. "The Prom" is a really interesting place with recent fire and flood damage. We walked up Mt Bishop with fantastic views and then Squeeky Beach which was breathtaking with clear sea and white sand. Make sure you bring a raincoat as the weather changes very quickly there.
Excellant day trip. Anthony our guide was very informative and friendly. Squeaky Beach was very pretty but not squeaky as our day was a bit wet. The walks were tiring but the views were lovely at the end.
Lots of hiking/walking. Tour guide let us walk at our own pace which was nice for us older people. Scenery was absolutely beautiful. Quite enjoyed this tour.
Overall it was very good experience. Beautiful views, nice walk to the top of mountain and then going down to the squeaky beach and beautiful view along the way. The driver cum tour guide, Terry, was very nice ,friendly and provided a lot of information during the tour.
But, I believe it is bit rushed. We had to kind of race against time to complete all activities. Also, in the 21 seater vehicle the seats were not very comfortable. We needed to spend 6 to 7 hours in the bus and thus more comfortable seats could be helpful. Also, we went to the top of mount Bishop whereas some other tours go to the top of mount Oberon. From the pictures, it seems that the view from the top of mount Oberon is better than that of mount Bishop.
It was nice but expected more
If you don't have a lot of time then this tour is the perfect one day trip. You get to see a lot and it is an active day. If you are lucky you might spot some emus, wallabies or wombats. We had one long hike what I really enjoyed and the tour guide gave us the option to walk down to Squeaky Beach as well.
There is only something that bothered me about this tour. You spend about 5-6 hours on the bus and the seats are very uncomfortable.
It's a pretty good day out, does drag on a bit, Andrew the tour guide was very good. The views from on top of the mountain makes the trip worthwhile
Everyting was fine , but we couldn't see wild an
Mals which we expect and March shouldn't be prefered to visit since risk of raining .
The tour was a long day with a lot of driving but enjoyable all the same. We didn't do the climb to the top of the mountain as it was a very hot day. We visited the wetlands and rainforest instead which was interesting, but quite rushed. Too much time spent on the beach - one and a half hours. I would have preferred more walking at a slower pace to enjoy the surroundings, but each to his own. I think other people enjoyed the beach which was very beautiful.
