Loved the whole experience, crocs being fed, very friendly koala's and roos.Lots of birdlife.Friendly staff.Too many species to remember.I arrived there fairly late, still plenty to do and see,but recommend coming early to see some of the feeding experiences. A must for families, very safe and kids were loving hand feeding wallabies and birds. Thanks guys for a lovely day.

Did the night tour. Excellent. Brilliant guide (Hunter) who was personable and knowledgeable. Not only did we get to see an extensive range of wildlife (birds, reptiles, mammals), but were able to interact - feed and hold. The enclosures are excellent and occupy quite a large area. Great value and memorable.

Great trip with experienced tour operator Lisa who was a lovely person and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this trip.

The website is a little confusing when booking. I booked my family into the night tour, which looked as if it included entry to the park during the day, it didn't. This was fine as entry is not that expensive and can be bought at the gate on the day; however, I would recommend ringing to purchase tickets instead of using the online system. My mother and I arrived at the park at 2:30 not realising that it closed at 4:00 and reopened for the night tour at 6:00 this was not clear on the website. The park has a lot of birds that are very friendly, so I would recommend that you like birds before coming here. It is a reasonably small park, and we were able to do it in 1.5 hours quite comfortably. The night tour was definitely the highlight, and I would recommend it. Our guide was Sophie, and she was terrific and very knowledgeable with a biology background. On the tour, we fed wallabies and kangaroos, cassowaries and birds. It is fantastic to see how the animal's behaviour changes at night.

I love this place, you can spend hours wandering around the different areas, the bird sanctuary, the savannah, the night dwellers , crocodiles, fish++++++, there are also birds that come and go .You can have " breakfast with the birds" as staff will bring them round at the cafe which in the middle of the "Habitat".One entryticket can get you three days access, so you can come and go, it is ideal for families. I have lost count of the amount of times I have visited over the past 10 years.

Our time there was good. It is a smaller place, but you do get to hold a koala, and they have a big crocodile that will jump. We went to Hartley's after leaving the Wildlife Habitat and realized that you can hold koala's there, and Hartley's has amazing crocodile shows and exhibits. So, overall, the Wildlife Refuge was small but good, and they do let you feed kangaroos and wallabies. But, if I only had time to go to one, I would choose Hartly's.

You can walk around at your own pace and hand feed the kangaroos. The animals are within reach the whole time - except for the crocs. We thought it was a little pricey for what you get.

We visited the Habitat for about 2 1/2 hours. It was great to see Kangaroos, wallabies, cassowaries, pelicans, koalas. and other birds and animals. We took a tour of the savanah environment which was super informative. We had our picture taken with "Tia" the koala. Well planned out sanctuary.

A must do visit when you are in the area. Lots of interesting free talks given by knowledgeable staff. Lots of free flying areas and up close opportunities with the Wallabies who will feed out of your hand. There's photo opportunities with Koalas and reptiles.

Loved to be up close to so many birds. The care takers of the animals were informative and all truly cared for the species around them even the people working in the cafeteria. It was great to have photos taken with some of the animals.

My sister and I spent an interesting morning here, not just taking Breakfast with the Birds but also checking out everything else from cassowaries to crocodiles, black necked storks (jabirus) to ducks, koalas to tree kangaroos and much more. There are signs of aging in the infrastructure but also evidence that refurbishment is taking place. Breakfast with the Birds was an opportunity to eat breakfast beside a vast aviary full of interesting birds, to enjoy an interesting selection of hot and cold food choices and to talk to two keepers who invited us to touch the Birds they held and hold them if we wished. The place is well worth a visit at any time of day, even if you do not choose to eat there.

Lovely place for young and old. Plenty to see and very interactive with the animals. It took about 2 hours at a slow pace to see everything with a stop for coffee and cake. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

I was extremely disappointed in this park. I thought the habitats were unsuited to the animals. Particularly the cassowaries whose natural habitat is rainforest and they don't do well in captivity. They were in dusty enclosures and spent a lot of the time we were there with their heads under the walkway, their only means of privacy. Having just seen a cassowary in the Daintree Rainforest I was disgusted and depressed for the poor birds in the Wildlife Habitat. The koalas and tree kangaroos are in enclosures with a few branches.

My partner and I visited the Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas on the weekend, it was a great way to spend the afternoon checking out some Australian animals & we found the presentations super interesting. A great place to bring to kids to kill some time!

My dream came true..to hold a koala. Fine conditions for the animals, and one came so close to them.

DawnMarie_G December 2017

I was initially excited about this stop, but after seeing many of these same animals in their natural habitat on other tours, it seemed sad to view them locked in a zoo. The kangaroos were huddled at the gate trying to get out as visitors came into the enclosures. You could purchase food to feed them, but they didn't seem to want it, perhaps due to so many people trying to feed them all day long. There was a bird some kind of owl? in the gift shop sitting on a perch and it fell onto the floor at one point. It just overall seemed pretty sad and touristy unfortunately.

cristina.chin June 2017

I very much enjoyed my experience here. There are plenty of opportunities to interact with the animals. The animals were all very friendly, as were the people working there. You pay extra for a picture with a Koala but it's a great keepsake. I didn't know what to expect but this experience exceeded my expectations. I purchased the lunch option as well, but I personally did not think the lunch was very good. You can easily spend a half day here or more depending on how much interaction you want with the animals. Well worth the trip if you are in the area.

Anton E November 2016

This place is AWESOME. Animals, birds, lots of them, you can interact with them and those breakfast with birds thing, I love it!

Steve_R July 2016

Nice place to wonder around, especially outside. Food was ok, but nice to get close to the birds and have them flying around.

TszSin_N June 2016

Definitely a must-do while you're in Port Douglas! Nothing could beat the experience of being so up-close and personal to the many animals they have here and even more-so feeding them!! feed bag definitely recommended additional small fee It's nice to see the majority of animals roaming free and though it's not a huge park like Taronga Zoo, it is still a decent size to explore.

My only semi-complaint was the lunch with lorikeets option we purchased along with our admission but only because the food available was not only lacking in option, but also in flavour so bland its as if a pinch of salt was too much to ask for. Ultimately it's a slightly better deal than buying separately and at the end of the day, something WAS better than nothing..but just know not to expect much from their sad definition of a buffet.

Jerry H May 2016

This place is a tropical rain forest. High Temperature and humidity. Plenty of things to do. We took a trip to the Great Barrier Reef and went snorkeling. The downtown area is very nice with plenty of shops and places to eat.

Lynnette B March 2016

Great park. Very neat and well maintained. Loved holding a koala - so cute. I have the photo which I will treasure. The free wifi at the park was a nice bonus. Prices in the gift shop, including the photos with the koala were very reasonable. Easy transportation from the ship to the park.
