Uluru Small-Group Tour by Camel at Sunrise or Sunset
Contemplate how the outback pioneers traveled across regions of Australia on a camel tour with an expert guide. Choose from sunrise, sunset or express camel rides against the backdrop of Ayers Rock (Uluru) and Kata Tjuta. Watch the desert come to life in the early morning, or choose a later ride to see the changing colors of Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta at dusk. If you’re short on time, take a morning or afternoon express camel ride for a taste of central Australia’s traditional transport. Along the way, your expert cameleer provides information about the desert’s wildlife and ecology, and shares their passion and respect for camels, the ‘ships of the desert,’ which played a vital role in opening up central Australia’s remote outback regions.
A peaceful one hour camel ride over the rich red sand dunes. Witness the sunrise or sunset over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Watch the desert come to life as our friendly and knowledgeable cameleers tell you about the flora and fauna along the trail. A photographers delight as we pause on a remote lookout.

Lovely tour guides Lily and Summer very informative, professional and friendly! Camels safe and easy ride. So glad I ticked off my bucket list. Highly recommend!
The tour guides really make this a great experience. They love their camels, are full of fun stories and are quintessential Australians. The camels all have personalities of their own which is hilarious to watch. Unfortunately for us it was a cloudy day and the sunset wasn't the best however the overall experience was fantastic.
I cannot recommend this tour enough! We did the sunset tour and what a magical way to experience the great landscape and views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The guides are friendly and passionate not only about camels and their history in Australia but also the Aboriginal people and history of the land.
A special Thank You to Greg who really made the tour memorable.
Jessica and Ash were great guides. Got us safely on our camels for a great trail ride. Ash spent a lot of time answering our questions and did a great job taking our pictures to capture this great experience. Would highly recommend
The sunrise camel trip was so much fun! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and haven’t laughed that much in a long time. The staff were very friendly and we learned a lot! The pictures taken at sunrise with Uluru in the background were fantastic! It is a must do if staying at Ayers Rock!
This was a very enjoyable ride on a camel in a train, stopping to look at the sunset. The staff were informative, friendly and clearly loved the camels. The food and drinks at the end were much better than we were expecting. They took photos with visitors' cameras as well as their own.
Was a great experience great staff and yummy food fabulous camels such a great experience would highly recommended
My boys and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The guides were awesome and the scenery was to die for.
It was such an amazing experience to ride camels. The staffs were approachable and helpful, shuttle bus was on time to pick us up. I dropped my hat during the ride and they helped to pick it up. Thank you so much!
We loved this activity the kids loved it the guides were knowledgeable about the land and we also learned a lot about the aboriginal culture and what all the rule means to them thank you so much this was awesome
Did this tour with my 14 year old daughter and my sister and her kids. Great tour, amazing views and very knowledgeable guides. Highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with the camels and the tour to go see Uluru. Getting some of the background on how camels were introduced to Australia and learning about the animals themselves was a treat. All the staff was very friendly and we came away feeling very content with the visit. Louie was the camel we rode and we got some awesome pictures with him.
This was the first adventure in our Uluru quick trip and a great way to start it off. The people were very friendly and welcoming, the camel behaved itself and we had a spectacular sunset. Finished with a couple of wines - perfect
I took my 5yr old and he always felt comfortable and safe. Great experience. They gave us lots of time to take photos and enjoy the view
This was a fantastic tour. I highly recommend it. The people running it were great and the camels were lovely and the sunrise was spectacular.
The camel ride company is very experienced and conducts a safe and interesting tour the lasts about two hours. This camel ride is okay for children and for seniors. The sunrise on Ayers Rock is worth seeing, but not quite a spectacular as the sunset.
This was a great way to experience riding a camel and getting a great picture with Uluru in the back! Their pictures are amazing but if you don’t want to buy them, they take photos on your phone as well! It was a perfect trip and the guides were funny and enjoyable!
This tour was the first of three..... I cant fault a thing, from the time we were collected from the Hotel till our return. The staff were friendly, professional, very approachable and informative. We had only three days and packed everything in and although I am a little afraid of heights even on a camel this whole experience was fabulous and I recommend it to both adults and children
Fabulous. we had such a great time. We were picked up and returned to our hotel. The organizers did a great job in getting us on and off the camels, explaining what we saw , and about the area. Afterward we ate good stuff.
Fun ride. The ladies running the ride were very knowledgeable about camels and their history In Australia. The ride was really cool and seeing Ayer’s rock at sunset was very interesting. Recommend trying this.
This is one of those experiences one never forgets. Despite the freezing cold it was -1C in the morning when we got to the camel center, this was a fascinating experience that I enjoyed more than I thought I would. A big part of that was the Camel Express staff - a great bunch of knowledgeable and friendly folk who really try to make your experience memorable and care very much about the animals. Many thanks for the awesome experience!
A great experience. staff really friendly and professional.
A wonderful tour in the Uluru region. Would take the tour again. Friendly staff. Great snack and just a wonderful experience in an amazing place.
This was the highlight of our trip to Uluru! Very well organised. We can highly recommend this trip. The beer bread and drinks afterwards were amazing, too.
