What a way to relive a childhood memory with my own kids. We put the Great State voucher to good use and had Devonshire Tea whilst cruising the river. Grace was very knowledgeable and gave us some interesting facts and history along the trip. The definite highlight for my children was the opportunity to "drive the boat" and sit up in the captains chair. Love to do it again!

We were very fortunate to combine our Popeye experience with a beautiful relaxing over night stay at the InterContinental Hotel which was so convenient to be able to just walk out the back door and down to the Popeye mooring wharf and casually board it for our Devonshire 12.00noon River Torrens commentary tour .. we experienced a very pleasant comfortable relaxing cruise complete with a very informative cometary while enjoying an extremely tasty fresh Devonshire scones strawberry jam and cream .. thoroughly recommended .. River Torrens Scenic Cruise .. we loved it !!

What a lovely float along the river. Easy access, great commentary, lovely way to spend some time and learn a bit about Adelaide at the same time. Thoroughly recommend!

Very good experience. Lots of information provided. Easy to book online and good customer service. No worries when I wanted to change the booking.

We are interstate travellers and had hoped for a relaxing cruise on the river on a hot day. Big mistake. We did not enjoy for the following reasons: 1. Wooden bench seats - no back support ouch! 2. Diesel engine too loud - strained to hear commentary. 3. Poor roof acoustics - chatter + engine noise = headache 4. Roof design prevents viewing of buildings & up embankments. 5. The Captain’s monotone in delivering commentary. He didn’t want to be there & neither did I. We couldn’t wait to get off. All this for the bargain price of $24 per adult. I think not!!

What a wonderful relaxing cruise along the Torrens. Skipper Mark was fun, friendly & a wealth of great information. The riverside scenery was beautiful. The Devonshire teas were delicious......and very filling! ( We didn't need lunch afterwards! ) Thank you Popeye cruises ....a South Australian experience to be proud of.

We had a lovely cruise on the River Torrens today on perfect weather. Our captain was knowledgeable about Adelaide’s history, much I wasn’t aware of. Very interesting. Will definitely do this again. Wonderful experience.

My husband had been on Popeye as a child so while visiting Adelaide we wanted to take our daughter on the cruise. Lovely helpful hosts on board. Very relaxing way to see Adelaide from the river. Great coffee too. Our daughter loved it!

The trip showed parts of Adelaide's beautiful riverside scenery that can't be experienced by road. Our skipper, Grace, was very informative about the places we passed and answered all our queries factually and promptly. As a South Australian resident I am so pleased that I have finally taken a trip on Popeye, so it proves that even locals can enjoy the experience as well as tourists.

Captain was great with interesting and knowledgeable information. She looked after the kids by letting them have a little steer of the boat.

A beautiful cruise on the spectacular Torrens river, in a clean well presented boat. Captain Tony was a pleasure to be around, and very informative of the history and surrounds. A must do while in Adelaide!

Janice_M October 2021

Seeing a turtle sitting sunning on a log was the kids' most favourite part. The boat captain let them activate the horn and they also loved that.

I used to take my children on the Popeye, and now I've taken my grandchildren. They thought it was magical. Thank you to the crew, Simon and Alex, who were really professional and welcoming. My grandson proudly performed the very important task of starting the engine - and each child had the chance to have their photos taken 'steering' the boat. The river is so pretty, and teeming with birdlife. A most pleasant, relaxing way to spend an hour, gently cruising along sipping the complimentary coffee and tea.

Perth_Marie October 2021

Grace and Alex were great boat hosts, we enjoyed our cruise down the river and the coffee served was the best we had in days!!

We've done the Popeye cruise a few times and enjoy the delightful motor down the river with informative commentary. This time we tried the Devonshire Tea experience and it is great value. Staff are fabulous and it is easy to book online. Highly recommended.

Mikappa0256 September 2021

We decided to go with the Devonshire Tea on the 45 minute river cruise and it was lovely, big lovely scones and wonderful service. My teenagers had a drive of the boat and the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend the Popeye and will definitely be back.

Lovely way to view Adelaide and see and hear a little of its history. Calm, peaceful cruise experience. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable.

konradp1979 July 2021

My family thoroughly enjoyed the Torrens River Cruise as part of their school holidays. The staff were really engaging and Charlotte was extremely informative as she took us through various sights of Adelaide and its history. The cruise lasted approximately 45 minutes. There was a little cafe/bar on board, which also made the cruise more enjoyable and relaxing. We highly recommend this experience!

S6800TGestherh July 2021

We took the river cruise as part of our day program/school holiday program. The staff were extremely helpful and informative but most of all, interactive with our participants. They all had a wonderful time, thank you.
