Sydney Whale-Watching Cruise
Sydney Whale-Watching Cruise
See magnificent humpback and southern right whales at play on a Sydney whale-watching cruise. From Darling Harbour this open-water cruise will take you through the entrance of Sydney Harbour and into the open Pacific in search of whales. The open-air viewing decks on board the catamaran offer unobstructed views and the best opportunities for spotting and watching the whales. Getting up close to these gentle giants of the sea is an awe-inspiring experience that you don’t want to miss. With record numbers of whales due to pass along Sydney's coastline this migration season, there are sure to be plenty of sightings and great photo opportunities!
Whale Watching cruises are an extraordinary opportunity to see the gentle giants of the sea on their annual migration. Your cruise begins at Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour and makes its way past the Opera House, the beautiful eastern suburbs and outside the Harbour headlands to open water. Southern Right, Orca and Minke Whales all visit Sydney's coastline, but it's the Humpbacks that come in great numbers and love to show off with breaches, tail slaps and even a sneaky wink when they are feeling extra curious.

We went whale watching for our first time and not only was it the best experience ever for us. I have to say the crew on the boat were Friendly and kind and Then we all got sea sick and they were so caring and checking up on us. I highly recommend this tour to any one
Thank you vicky
Guide and captain were great, very knowledgeable about the whales. Saw 11 in total, would be great to go again on a calmer day.
We went on this tour with our two children. Despite the boat being very rocky in the open ocean, none of the passengers got seasick. Anticipation and excitement filled the boat and the entire experience was just amazing! By God's grace, we got to see not just one whale, but a mother whale teaching and/or playing with her calf. It was just out of this world!
We enjoyed this cruise very much. In all there must have been around four pods. They didn't disappoint, what a great trip.
Absolutely loved it. Saw 5 whales even a baby. Thank you for the experience. Would highly recommend.
absolutely fantastic. Saw 4 whales in 1 pod who put on a show, Staff onboard caring and knowledgeable and just as thrilled as the passengers. Great day.
One of the most interesting cruises I've ever been to. The staff were nice. They gave losts of information about the wales. We saw lots of amazing wales.
Lucked out and saw some whales.
We were lucky enough to be visiting Sydney, Australia when the whales were migrating! We saw several whales just outside of Sydney Harbor breach, splash down, and flip their tail! It was amazing!
Crew really tried to help find whales.
Such a great day out for our whole family, adult kids!
The guide and pilot of the boat were patient and generous and made sure we all got what we came for!
Very interesting tour and if you're lucky enough as we were to see 2 humpback whales playing .
Great experience! Spotted many whales!
This was fantastic! The guide was knowledgeable and interesting. What a great experience, loved every minute of it!
This was the best experience I had. We saw the whale so near. Go for it if you are visiting Sydney.
Saw heaps of whales. Great day
Best whale-watching trip we have ever taken!! we have been in Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean, etc and this was terrific. Saw a family group breach approximately 100 times in the short time we watched them.
Great tour for adventure and thrill seekers but not for those who easily get seasick. We saw at least half a dozen whales. Or maybe up to a dozen. Great views all around all throughout the trip!
A beautiful day curtesy by mother nature absolutely loved the cruise Whales are so unpredictable and when they rose up from the ocean nothing but spectacular sights, would highly recommend captain cook whale watching cruises
The Sydney whale watching cruise was certainly an eye-opening experience for me. The afternoon cruise that I went on was the perfect ending for my day's visit to Sydney, Australia. The pilot of the Captain Cook's cruise boat provided an informative commentary throughout the cruise: as we headed out of the Sydney harbour area telling us what to look out for while we were amongst the whales informing us of each sighting of whale fin and whale breaking surface to blow and as we headed back to the Circular quay in Sydney. Although the motion of the boat did make me feel a bit sleepy for the first half, I was thrilled to glance towards the opposite side of the boat and clearly see close-up a whale break the surface of the water and dive down again. Others on the cruise viewed a mother whale and her young one many times during the cruise. It was a great whale spotting time: there seemed to be quite a number of whales in the area. I would really recommend visitors taking a whale watching cruise while they are in Sydney.
We watched 2 whale at the end. Great and happy.
Cruise operation worked hard to make sure we saw whales and extended our time. I have never seen humpbacks so close up. Great experience.
Had the best whale watching trip! We had four whales that were putting on a show around us the whole time. Dolphins showed up as well and we saw seals on the way back in. Was way above my expectations. I would definitely recommend this.
Outstanding! Paul was an outstanding tour guide. He kept us informed all through the trip with excellent knowledge of the whales and Sydney's coastline.
