This was a great walking tour around The Rocks, finally learning how to use more features on our smartphone cameras. Alfonso was so knowledgeable and friendly. We were also given access to his e-book and other information to continue practicing what we had learned that day. We enjoyed ourselves so much, will look to book in for a night tour!!

A great introduction to photography. Alfonso had some excellent tips on creating the perfect shot and the subjects were varied, including architecture, landscape and portraits so it was a good all around introduction. Alfonso is also very knowledgeable. The Rocks is a great location as the scenes are varied. I walked away with some great photos!

Alphonso was an excellent teacher who was so good at presenting ways of using my iPhone to create such interesting photos. I learnt so much about photography techniques and have already put his teaching into practice.

Very fun and informative course. As an absolute beginner I've learned so much! From choosing the best light and spot, through camera settings to editing. We've done several interesting exercises each of them focused on different type of pictures. Alfonso created great atmosphere among the group and made sure everyone take the most out of the experience. Strongly recommended!!

Actually it was more than just fun. Alfonso soent 3 hours yesterday in a bitterly cold Saturday in Sydney explaining and helping us gain skills in taking and editing our iphone photos. If you are an iphone( or android) beginner you will be amazed. If you are a photographer used to the intricacies of heavy DSLRs you will be amazed what an iphone can do.

Had a blast spending the afternoon with Alfonso. He's a really lovely guy with a wealth of knowledge and some brilliant tips. He set great little photo challenges and helped improve my photography almost instantly. I learned so much and finally have an understanding of all the features on my camera. Can't recommend highly enough.

Can’t thank Alfonso enough. He stepped into the breach after I had been let down by another tour supplier. I contacted him at 1 pm and we were shooting at 5.30. Pre tour comms were excellent. The meeting place was easy to find and Alfonso arrived promptly. The guy is a talented photographer and excellent teacher. We were taken to amazing locations and vantage points and Alfonso was on hand for both technical advice and artistic suggestions. The results speak for themselves. Will certainly catch up with him next time I’m in town.

This 3 hour smartphone course is perfect. Covering camera basics, lines, scales, contrast, textures and much more. Chris was patient, very informative and helpful. The Rocks is a great location for photography. The history, architecture and street life is fascinating. Looking forward to putting this newfound knowledge and skills into practice. Ben was thorough enough to help us understand the basics of using a professional camera - which we needed - and brief enough to explain how a professional photographer would choose angles, scenes and backgrounds. Highly recommended if you have just bought a camera, and thought you'll simply set it to "Auto" and start shooting National Geography worth photos.

Very informative and Alfonso structured the course exactly to what my needs were. He talked to through everything and made sure I understood and grasped the concept before putting it into practice which was great. We were fortunate enough to have all kinds of weather which was great for experimenting with different techniques, especially using the manual setting. WOW! Once again, Sydney Photography Tours has provided the learning at the right time in the right place! The Historic Rocks, Sydney AUS, was the location for my most recent tour. This has been my second tour with this company. Chris L Jones was our guide par excellence, and our group learned so many things. Who would have thought that you could do so much with your smartphone! My phone was the odd man out: not a Samsung, not an iPhone, but rather a Sony Xperia. Chris said, "No problem, we can learn together". And we did. Taking us from camera basics (rule #1: clean your lens) and about photography theory (lines, scale, texture), Chris guided us through The Historic Rocks assigning us tasks, after which we used this really cool app to create photographs that border on professional. We also learned took panoramic and slow motion shots. This 3-hour Smartphone Photography Tour was perfect! If you are looking to support your photographs with the latest technology, I highly recommend this course! Thanks so much for your expertise, Chris!

Alfonso is an awesome teacher. He is patient, polite and enthusiastic and didn't mind at all that I was struggling to use my camera. I learned so much in the 3 hour course. I will definitely be back again - we had such a great night!

Learned a great deal during this workshop. Lot of practical. Very helpful to understand the functions of DSLR camera. Great tips on taking good portrait picture. Overall it was good learning of ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture. Thank you.

I enjoyed the tour very much... especially all of the history associated with Sydney which Ken so eagerly explained and it gave me the opportunity to photograph some things I wouldn't have otherwise been able to.

I did a beginners photographic course for digital SLR cameras on Saturday 26 May 2018. The course took us through the basic functions on our Canon digital SLR cameras and taught us techniques which improved my creative skills. I highly recommend the course which I found practical and informative.

I received the Sydney Photography Tour As a Christmas gift. I didn’t know what to expect. I had a fabulous afternoon out. Alfonso has a way of allowing us to develop our skills without being intrusive. Our group had varying competency levels. Lack of skill is no problem. Everyone is welcome. He offers advice on camera settings and leaves you to practice by taking pictures in various settings, including photography of people in varied light with hints as to how to improve lighting during portraiture. Alfonso’s input and suggestions -coupled by practice and sharing our thoughts on our favourite shots-made for a memorable day. I feel encouraged to continue practicing learned techniques and continuing to develop my own style of photography, AND keep learning. A fun hobby made all the more fun by Alfonso and the 4 other lovely people in our group for the day. I look forward to joining Sydney Photography Tours for a night photography tour later in year.

My husband bought me the day and night tour for my birthday. I enjoyed the day part but the night time one was really excellent. There was no-one else booked on so just a one on one with Gary, who was really good. Got some excellent shots of Sydney that I would never have imagined I would get. I would definitely recommend anyone with an interest in photography to give it a go!
