We started from CBD. The driver cum guide was awesome. We loved his commentary. He shared all the information in advance before we reach the Wineries. It was a quite comfortable tour. We covered 3 Wineries and 1 Cheese and Chocolate testing area. Lunch was awesome. Before leaving the Hunter Valley, our guide surprisingly brought us to the Kangaroo lookout place. Highly recommend this tour.
Jason was terrific. Just the right combination of wine related information to make the experience meaningful and a dry wit to make the conversation fun.
We really enjoyed the tour and bating Jim. It was excellent. All three wineries were really good. We bought 4 bottles of wine and cheese. Thank you Jim for a really good time from two Tennessee hicks.
Had time in Sydney to finally take a wine tour in Hunter Valley! We live close to the Napa Valley and wanted an opportunity to try some Australian Wines. It was a great tour! Booked online. Very concise instructions on where to meet and the bus arrived on time. Knowledgeable guide. 3 wineries on the tour and we were very pleased with the with all of them. Great wines with super nice people at the wineries. I highly recommend this perfect day!
My husband and I had a great day with Peter. He was right on time to pick up and even dropped us back off near our hotel. He gave lots of great recommendations on the drive up and picked out three wonderful wineries to explore. He even found a few Kangaroos for us to photograph :)
Our tour guide Scott was very well informed and related a lot of great information about Sydney and Australia in general. I enjoyed hearing his stories of wildlife experiences. We highly recommend this tour.
I cannot recommend this tour enough! Activity Tour's manager, Tish, and our guide, Jim, were both phenomenal. I've never been on such an interactive and wonderful tour. Tish and Jim were so accommodating to our whole group and answered every question with such kindness. The wines tasted were beyond me and I ended up having to make more luggage space for the ones I loved most! The wineries were selected with great taste and the people showcasing their wines were absolutely amazing. 15/10 would tour again.
We saw Kangaroos!! It was a small group and the guide was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the day very much and the wine was great!!
Fun day and good wine
Excellent tour, tour guide and choice of wineries. Great value for money and a fun day which provided great insight in to the Hunter Valley and boutique wine operation.
Great day. Good wines, decent lunch in a nice setting, a little cheese and a little chocolate plus the opportunity to purchase if you liked any of that. O pressure at all though. Pretty scenery, a few kangaroos along the way as well. Our driver/guide was excellent, the van was comfortable and the number in the group was also. All in, well worthwhile.
This was an excellent tour, as the group was small enough about 16 people. Our driver was the guide and he did a great job. The wineries we visited gave excellent presentations and the wines were great, and they provided a nice selection of their collection. The lunch was great, too as I had the fish. The cheese and chocolate tasting was okay.
This is a great tour with a wide variety of selections of wine and a very interesting guide.
If the weather is sunny, it gets perfect with the scenery of Hunter Valley and if you are lucky, you might be able to see wild kangaroos.
This tour was absolutely fantastic - i went on it as my wife loves wine, and returned even more enthusiastic about wine!
Steve, the Australian tour guide/driver, was brilliant - constantly thinking of the customer and is a real people-person. We had a lovely group of 8 of us from across the world England, Canada, USA, Singapore and that was great to discuss wines from across the globe. The air-conditioned minibus was of a high standard and a comfortable journey.
We visited 3 wineries and tasted a good 25 or so wines from the Hunter Valley. It was easy to purchase a bottle as they all had card machines - and, the wines were all very reasonably priced for small boutique wineries. Lunch was included and was again, a very high standard. We stopped for a good length of time so was given an opportunity to visit some shops where there was some chocolate and cheese samples available.
I cannot recommend this tour enough, it really was a brilliant experience
Our tour guide, Ben, was friendly and knowledgeable. He brought us to three amazing wineries and then to see kangaroos at the end! Would highly recommend.
Great wines and the the driver was fantastic. highly recommend iron gate wines
Our guide for the day is Steve, and he made the tour even more amazing and fun than it would have been.
This tour was a lot of fun and Jim was a great guide. He kept us informed and entertained while on the road and even stopped to let us take photos when some wild kangaroos popped up alongside the road. It's tough to review the wine as that's so subjective but the wineries were in beautiful locations and the staff at each location were wonderful. The place we stopped for lunch was in a cute shopping center and the food was cafe-style sandwiches. The lunch was fine but if I went again I might try a different location like a few of our fellow tour mates did for something a little less basic. Ultimately I'm recommending this tour because of a great tour guide, the lovely wineries and stunning landscapes.
This tour was absolutely incredible. From the moment we were picked up, our expert guide Nigel hit us with the humour! He picked the finest stops that didn't disappoint one bit. I didn't know that he was an expert kangaroo locator, but wow, he found us quite the smattering of them throughout the vineyard. Honestly, Nigel really made the trip, never have I had a tour guide with such passion and personality. He went above and beyond in his service and I'm glad I was able to meet such a soul. I've lived in Sydney for just a few short months, and my new buddy Nigel gave me his number in case I need any suggestions or just want to get a cup of coffee with him if I'm ever up in the Blue Mountains. I will have to take him up on this offer for sure. My mates from America were lucky enough to experience this tour with me as well, and it was the highlight of their stay in Australia. Would recommend this tour to anyone that visits Australia, professional and world-class tour guide and location. Wine, cheese, beer, vodka, champagne, kangaroos, and chocolate. 10/10
This all-day adventure was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Australia. Our guide/driver Jim was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the wineries we visited and wines we sampled, but also about the geography and history of the regions through which we traveled. He really made the experience much more enjoyable, particularly on the drive out from Sydney almost 2 hours.
We visited four vineyards and tried and purchased a variety of different wines. Our group was about 9 people, including a mix of Australians and internationals.
My only advice to fellow travelers would be to bring snacks for the morning ride, and possibly a book or magazine to read on the way back if you get bored riding in cars.
Good experience, but tiring since it consumes a whole day!
Great trip to the Hunter Valley!
The tour guide Steve was great - really knowledgeable and funny. He made the trip!
Visited 3 excellent wineries and had plenty to taste in each one. Nice lunch stop off, with a chance to do another wine tasting.
For the price - the trip was great! Would recommend!
Despite the wet start which rather spoiled the scenery en route this was a superb day. The 'experts' at the vineyards were very informative and though you may think a vineyard is a vineyard no two were the same. The lunch provided was more than adequate and my husband's gluten free diet was readily catered for, advance notice having been given. It was good being in a small group too.
