Phillip Island Penguin Parade Day Trip with Koala Park
Prepare for cuteness overload as we visit the home of over 32,000 Little Penguins! Each night, hundreds (sometimes thousands!) of these adorable penguins emerge from the surf and waddle up the beach at the world famous Penguin Parade. But it’s not all about them!
You’ll also have the chance to make some new kangaroo and koala friends, as well as taking in the stunning beaches and boardwalks that Phillip Island has to offer.

Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Cape Woolamai Beach, Phillip Island, Victoria Australia
Crossing over the bridge in San Remo arrive to Phillip Island and make your way down to Cape Woolamai Surf Beach. Breathe in the sea air and taking a walk along the beach provides stunning views of this volcanic coastline. Look for Pyramid Rock in the distance!
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: The Nobbies Centre, 1320 Ventnor Rd, Summerlands, Phillip Island, Victoria 3922 Australia
As you enter Summerlands you will notice the absence of any housing, this is the part of the island which is all National Park. You will see the small wooden man-made burrows in which penguins who have not gone out fishing for the day are hiding. We will take a walk out around the board walks of ‘The Nobbies’ and have a look to see if we can spot any Little Penguins in their burrows, follow the walkways around to view ‘The Blowhole’ where waves come crashing up onto the dark volcanic rock, the caves and formations at this naturally craggy peninsula make for many dramatic photos, with the backdrop of Seal Rocks – on a sunny day you might be lucky enough to see Australian Fur Seals basking in the sun.
If you do not fancy braving the boardwalks then step inside the Nobbies Information Centre where you can peruse the gift shop, grab a hot drink or discover the ‘Antarctic Journey Experience’, Antarctic Journey Entry can be added on for $18pp and gives an immersive insight into the many marine animals of the Southern Hemisphere, as a WWF attraction your entrance fee will go directly back into helping protect and preserve these majestic creatures of the deep Southern and Antarctic Oceans.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Phillip Island Nature Parks - Penguin Parade, 1019 Ventnor Rd Summerlannds Estate, Summerlands, Phillip Island, Victoria 3922 Australia
As the sun begins to set it is time to make your way to the Penguin Parade, the Little Penguins only come out of the water after the sun has gone down so that they can be sure to stay out of the way of any predators in the air above them.
The Penguin Parade ask that no photography is taken from this point on, this is to protect the sensitive eyes of the Little Penguins and ensure they are not scared, Wildlife Tours fully supports this request and we believe you will enjoy getting to witness such an amazing natural spectacle without the distraction of getting the ‘perfect photo’ – allow yourself to be fully immersed in the experience!

Our tour guide Simon is great! Visited several interesting places. There was lighting so we couldn't spend much time to watch the penguins.
Ash was a brilliant guide . Hugely knowledgeable and coped well given it rained the whole trip and scenery never looks as good and couldn’t do beach walks.
The Penguins saved the day and made the trip absolutely worthwhile although I do have concern for their future with the expansion of the centre and thousands of us tourists a certain section who don’t take instructions and use photography and stand during the parade.
Stewards need to be more direct and strict to maintain order and enjoyment for all.
What a magical moment! The staff was incredible and knowledgeable and the tour was fantastic! I loved seeing the wildlife and of course the penguins! The Maru park was ok, Great way to see all the animals if you have children, we were fortunate to see many of them in the wild!
What an amazing day. JP was an excellent tour guide not too little not too much. Very accommodating to the entire group and very professional would absolutely recommend them again.
It was a wonderful day. Our guide/driver Carl was funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. He didnt mind getting down and dirty to find wild penguins for us to get a pic, not at Penguin Parade. We shared a lot of information and ensured we all had a great time. Highly recommend the trip for singles or families. The only negative was the food, I suggest you bring some snacks. Lunch was ok, buying at the sites is expensive and small selection.
There was a mix up in our booking but they went out of their way to fix it and make sure we went on our tours.
A lovely trip and the driver was very informative. Everything ran very smoothly and we would definitely recommend this trip
This was one of our favorite things we did while in Australia. The penguins were so cute, we had lots more time than other tours to watch as they came up the beach. Our guide gave the best advice about when and how to view the penguins.
It was fun to see those Parrots in natural habitual, and see Penguin parade. It was a different experience. I am recommending. We went in July it was cold in the evening, make sure to have a worm jacket. We enjoyed.
Penguins were great, loved the experience! The park was nice. Great full day, guide was really lovely.
Very good trip. Phil our guide/driver was excellent.
Not sure why but I expected to see a lot more penguins but still very good.
Great day out to wildlife park and Philip island. Our tour guide Kelly was very informative and great fun too. The penguin parade was lovely to see. Definitely recommend this trip
Tour was great fun... Penguins are so cute and Phil our guide was very interesting! Would recommend to everyone who visits Melbourne.
Excellent tour, tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and he made the whole day very enjoyable.
Maru Koala and Wildlife Park turned out to be a pleasant surprise - get up close to kangaroos and wallabies in an open enclosure! The chocolate stop wasn't much to shout about but the highlight was definitely the Penguin Parade. Guide did a great job getting us there early and giving us tips on the best seats in the house. Highly recommend this tour.
Great time so much more than just penguins!
Lovely place. Magnificent views and such cute little marching penguins. Wildlife tours itinerary was just perfect. Our guide, Simon Q was fun, informative and brought the group together. I loved the views around the Nobbies and the wilderness of Phillip island more than the penguin parade itself!
Mycket bra! Passar alla åldrar, men det gäller att vara väl förberedd varma kläder/regnkläder kolla väderrapporten!
had a great time. was one of the highlights of our vacation
The trip to Phillip Island was great! Our guide was really informative and in addition to the Maru Koala and Wildlife Park we also got to see a lot of great lookout points across the island. The highlight was seeing the penguins and be sure to take time to watch them once they get to their burrows.
Jon Paul did a great job! Wonderful trip.
It was great! The penguins were so cute and our tour guide was fantastic.
We took this tour the last week of April 2016 and had a great tour! Our guide, Bisho, was prompt and encouraged everyone on the tour to be prompt in loading. Bisho was knowledgeable about the area and made the day a great success.
