My 70 year old mother, 4 year old son and I traveled to Australia for the first time. Our first activity in Melbourne was this tour. We enjoyed a really great day...starting out with Emily who was a fantastic tour guide! (Emily-you were awesome and I am sorry my review is now a year old!). We enjoyed some beautiful sights and had ample time at each stop. My son was a bit sick since we were already on our 2nd weeks of travel (we were in New Zealand prior to Australia) but he was a trooper and really liked seeing the animals (kangaroos and koalas) at the Moonlit Sanctuary and the penguins. Emily was helpful providing guidance on the better seating areas to see the penguins. After an awesome day, we all boarded the tour bus to head back to the city, only to realize the bus wouldn't start! An added adventure, we all patiently waited as another bus was arranged. Emily again was great and we all made the best of the time...we enjoyed seeing the stars out on the island. We finally got an alternate bus to take us back to the city but the traffic in the city was insane (it was a Friday night). However, we made it back and I give 5 stars for a great tour, tour guide, and how they managed an unexpected situation.

Slightly late pick up but traffic in Melbourne was chaotic! Drive out to the coast was slow, again due to traffic. Once there, the rest of the trip went very well. Good time to spend at each stop with lots of information along the way. Pengiuins did not disappoint and it was fantastic way to finish off the trip!

Phillip Island didn't disappoint. The penguins, of course, were the stars. But the rest of the day was outstanding as well. We enjoyed the Moonlit Sanctuary, Brighton Beach, and the Nobbies. Our guide Chris was personable and excellent. We're not usually fans of tours, but this one was excellent. I mean, you had me at penguins!!

We had a real nice day. Our tour guide Dan was a real nice guy who made us feel comfortable and amused us the whole day. Also my greatest respect for the patience he had with one of the travellers who thought she was on a private tour. The trip itself was wourth it's price, alltough I would definitely pay a little extra for a better view at the penguin parade (we did and we saw the difference). Dinner is not included, but we stopped in a real nice town with a lot of different restaurants, where you can find something for every budget.

What a fabulous day. A tour that has a great itinery and timed to perfection, well done Go West Tours and Yaszmin our tour guide.Picked up on time then quickly off to Brighton beach for the beach huts of all colours, then to the wildlife sanctuary which had a fabulous show to boot, then off to Hobbies where we were delighted to see some Penguin s already at the boxes from the boardwalk there. Just a taster to the landing of the Penguin s on the beach and following them on their path home.Just fabulous and would recommend for all to see. You should be proud of your tours and your tour guides

Our guide, Corey, was very knowledgeable and we were impressed with the prompt pickup at a hotel about a block from where we were staying. We always had a clear understanding of what to expect at each of our stops including what time we needed to be back to the bus. We especially appreciated the outline of when we'd have opportunities to eat and the fact that we could order food at the animal sanctuary in advance. The stops along the way to Philip Island were nice and helped to break up the long drive, but the real highlights were seeing the Nobbies and, of course, the Penguin Parade. We're glad we opted for the ranger tour because we learned a lot from our guide, Michael, and appreciated the special viewing area for our group. There were only 6 people in our tour. It was great to learn about the conservation work being done on the island to protect the penguins and other native species. Watching the penguins come in from the ocean was a truly magical experience that we would highly recommend.

Phillip Island is for sure one of the most beautiful things I have ever done in my life!!! I had such an amazing day with awesome people, especially MIKE - this very cool guy wearing this lovely heart sunglasses: you made our day unforgettable!!! The penguin parade was absolutely incredible!!! I highly recommend this tour and once you are doing it you must definitely do with GO WEST TOURS!!! Enjoy it and have fun!!!

steffitedjo March 2020

Despite all the apprehension in AU from the COVID-19 threat (he mentioned we were his last group for who knows how long), Mike C. always had a super positive attitude and would make the group super excited by everything that was to come. Even though I have visited Phillip island before and fed kangaroos but he made it feel really special. Also love all the personal stories! Thanks for a great tour, Mike!

Owen64 March 2020

Excellent tour, particularly if you get Ricky as your driver/guide. He went above and beyond in helping us upgrade our tickets to the Guided Ranger Tour which was well worth the extra money. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We had the advantage of having only four in our group. Watching the little penguins race up the beach is a sight I will not soon forget.

Anita_G March 2020

Long but very enjoyable tour. Phillip Island was wonderful - really enjoyed seeing the penguins and Mike C, our guide, gave us great tips for where to go to get the best views during the parade of the penguins. Brighton Beach and the Moonlit Sanctuary were also great - lots of animals and very active. A long day but well worth it! Mike was a great host and guide. Highly recommend.

Great experience! Very nice and amazing trip We really enjoy the Phillips islands and we recommend this place

VegieSouthIndian March 2020

Trip was relaxing. We had sufficient time at each venue. Vegetarian options were available at the food stops. Mike was knowledgeable and commentary was lovely. Remember to carry a hoody as it is quite windy at the Penguin parade.

Senhorjab March 2020

During my visit, i didn't do my research on the matter and got there when the penguins where not there. But got to say very lovely building, it is a bit much for the purpose but i wasn't there during peak time (when the penguins arrive) to actually see how busy it was. Did get to spot a few penguins in the huts that were built for them. Google the time they arrive to make sure you get the best experience.

GWYNETH_S March 2020

This trip was absolutely magical- the penguins being the highlight of course! We paid for the guided ranger walk and talk and it was worth every penny! She was so excited! And so knowledgeable! And the seating was prime location to where the penguins come out of the ocean. One little fellah went rogue and came straight towards me and waddled under my seat for a shortcut LOL It was a wonderful night. I was really frustrated with the stupid people taking photos when we had been explicitly told that the penguins have very sensitive eyes. I would have LOVED a picture but followed the rules. They should be thrown out and made to delete their pictures. We loved this trip! Words cannot describe how beautiful these little creatures are. We also saw other wildlife on the reserve especially wallaby’s.

David_H March 2020

Excellent trip, great service, super guide/driver (Graham) and interesting and enjoyable venues and super opportunities to see and access them in detail.

Wanderer588105 March 2020

Great day out - all the attractions we visited we're great. Highlight was watching the penguins waddling up the beach. Our guide (Melissa C) was fun, informative and went above and beyond for everyone - a real credit to the company.

Just did the Phillip Island Day Tour with Mel C. What an experience! It was incredible getting to see parts of Melbourne I would have had no way of seeing on my own! Mel was an awesome tour guide and remarkably helpful with bits of information here and there to make the tour more enjoyable!!

MichelleGarside March 2020

Had such a lovely day with our guide Mel C. Saw lots of wildlife and had an incredible experience seeing all the penguins come up from the beach at dusk. Lots of information given and fun.

David_F March 2020

Our guide Paul took us on a wonderful tour of Melbourne, specifically Brighton Beach, Moonlit Sanctuary and Phillip Island. This small group tour was much preferred over the large group tours that the cruise ship offered. Paul gave us so much information about Melbourne and Australia. We saw so much beautiful scenery and Paul allowed for just the right amount of time at each photo opportunity. Unfortunately, it rained the evening of the penguin journey and because of lightning, the viewing had to be delayed because of safety concerns, but we were still able to view, for a short period, a few of the penguins make their way to their burrows. An incredible experience. I highly recommend this tour if you visit Melbourne.

Maps435895 March 2020

Wow what a great tour ! Enjoyed every second , got really up close with the penguins , learnt about the beach boxes and their history and took some really great pics!

jamela_c March 2020

I just want to give Alex a shoutout! He was really good and was keeping everybody alive and making sure everybody is enjoying the trip. It was a small group tour so it was really nice. This tour is a must when visiting Melbourne. The Penguin Parade is a mesmerizing experience, ti get your money’s worth, I recommend to get the VIP or the Ranger Guided tour. It’s so worth it.

Jeremy_C March 2020

I was born in Melbourne but moved to the US when I was 4. As such, I visit family in Melbourne often and have gone to Phillip Island and the Penguin Parade multiple times. However, as a newlywed, I decided to do a guided tour with my wife and the trip with Sarah and the Magic Bus was well worth the experience. Despite being a 12 hour day, no point was boring, and we got to see many things I've never seen before (wild wallabees, wild echidnas, surfers, and a guided ranger tour of penguins). I learned much more on this trip than any other visit and Sarah is a wonderful guide. I highly recommend doing the guided ranger tour as I feel we had a better view of the penguins. The new penguin parade facility/museum is amazing as well.

chris b March 2020

The description of this tour is pretty much self explanatory. Rachel, who was my tour guide, is very approachable and friendly. I was able to talk to her about certain things of Australian life & traditions. She is also very entertaining with the music she play,s and the jokes & stories she shares. She's an awesome and patient tour guide if the group was running a few minutes late. I would highly recommend having her as your guide if you're able to choose. It's unfortunate for you if she isn't your tour guide!

Kenneth Y March 2020

We had a pretty nice trip, it was well-organised. But our guide, Scott was a bit low on engagement. Not much energy and wasn't there most of the time. A small disappointment to a great day.
