Our guide, Corey, was very knowledgeable and we were impressed with the prompt pickup at a hotel about a block from where we were staying. We always had a clear understanding of what to expect at each of our stops including what time we needed to be back to the bus. We especially appreciated the outline of when we'd have opportunities to eat and the fact that we could order food at the animal sanctuary in advance. The stops along the way to Philip Island were nice and helped to break up the long drive, but the real highlights were seeing the Nobbies and, of course, the Penguin Parade. We're glad we opted for the ranger tour because we learned a lot from our guide, Michael, and appreciated the special viewing area for our group. There were only 6 people in our tour. It was great to learn about the conservation work being done on the island to protect the penguins and other native species. Watching the penguins come in from the ocean was a truly magical experience that we would highly recommend.

Long but very enjoyable tour. Phillip Island was wonderful - really enjoyed seeing the penguins and Mike C, our guide, gave us great tips for where to go to get the best views during the parade of the penguins. Brighton Beach and the Moonlit Sanctuary were also great - lots of animals and very active.
A long day but well worth it! Mike was a great host and guide. Highly recommend.

GWYNETH S March 2020

This trip was absolutely magical- the penguins being the highlight of course! We paid for the guided ranger walk and talk and it was worth every penny! She was so excited! And so knowledgeable! And the seating was prime location to where the penguins come out of the ocean. One little fellah went rogue and came straight towards me and waddled under my seat for a shortcut LOL It was a wonderful night. I was really frustrated with the stupid people taking photos when we had been explicitly told that the penguins have very sensitive eyes. I would have LOVED a picture but followed the rules. They should be thrown out and made to delete their pictures.
We loved this trip! Words cannot describe how beautiful these little creatures are. We also saw other wildlife on the reserve especially wallaby’s.

Excellent trip, great service, super guide/driver (Graham) and interesting and enjoyable venues and super opportunities to see and access them in detail.

Our guide Paul took us on a wonderful tour of Melbourne, specifically Brighton Beach, Moonlit Sanctuary and Phillip Island. This small group tour was much preferred over the large group tours that the cruise ship offered. Paul gave us so much information about Melbourne and Australia. We saw so much beautiful scenery and Paul allowed for just the right amount of time at each photo opportunity. Unfortunately, it rained the evening of the penguin journey and because of lightning, the viewing had to be delayed because of safety concerns, but we were still able to view, for a short period, a few of the penguins make their way to their burrows. An incredible experience. I highly recommend this tour if you visit Melbourne.

I just want to give Alex a shoutout! He was really good and was keeping everybody alive and making sure everybody is enjoying the trip. It was a small group tour so it was really nice. This tour is a must when visiting Melbourne. The Penguin Parade is a mesmerizing experience, ti get your money’s worth, I recommend to get the VIP or the Ranger Guided tour. It’s so worth it.

I was born in Melbourne but moved to the US when I was 4. As such, I visit family in Melbourne often and have gone to Phillip Island and the Penguin Parade multiple times. However, as a newlywed, I decided to do a guided tour with my wife and the trip with Sarah and the Magic Bus was well worth the experience. Despite being a 12 hour day, no point was boring, and we got to see many things I've never seen before (wild wallabees, wild echidnas, surfers, and a guided ranger tour of penguins). I learned much more on this trip than any other visit and Sarah is a wonderful guide. I highly recommend doing the guided ranger tour as I feel we had a better view of the penguins. The new penguin parade facility/museum is amazing as well.

Julie F March 2020

One of the best tours I have ever taken. It is a long day but well worth it. Wish there was less time at the Nobbies and dinner and more time at the brighten beach boxes and Moonlit sanctuary. But it is a fun day with a lot to see. The Penguins are the best! Make sure to pay extra for the rangers tour worth every penny.

A great day out with a great driver/guide. Glength was informative guide and a good safe driver. The Moonlit Sanctuary was a bit disappointing as we were there in the heat of the day and the animals were resting but the little show was good. The Penguins were a delight. It was a long day but we'll worth it.

We really enjoyed the Phillip Island Penguin parade. We stood on a boardwalk that was only about 2 feet from these adorable little guys. It was in February so they were close to the time when they molt all their feathers at once. Because of this, they had some extra weight on them. They were adorable. A few of them were so heavy that they would only "walk" a few feet at a time and then flop onto their bellies to rest.

Great tour with Alex as our tour guide. Brighton Beach looks to be a great holiday destination and it was interesting to see the old bathing boxes. Moonlit Sanctuary was a great place to observe all sorts of birds, koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and other wildlife. It was fun to feed the kangaroos and wallabies and of course, the birds gobbled up what they could as well. The Nobbies provided some spectacular views of the coastline on the way to Phillip Island and the Penguins. The Penguin Parade was amazing to see. We had rangers who provided us with background information and commentary throughout the tour. Watching the smallest penguins in the world come ashore and group up to make the journey from the beach to their nests was unbelievable to see. And at this time of year, they had chicks, some of whom were patiently awaiting the arrival of their parents and dinner, just outside of their nest. Totally enjoyed every moment of this experience

Yunus S February 2020

Great tour, well worth the time investment. We had an awesome tour guide (Leonie). Penguins were clearly the highlight but feeding the kangaroos was also a lot of fun. As the lowlight of the day, the penguin watching area was very windy and cold; Don’t forget to bring a thick and warm jacket and/or a windbreaker (or upgrade to the underground watching area, but you still need to walk outside quite a bit)

This is a small group tour suitable for family, travelling with children. Our tour guide, Jake was fabulous. He ensured that the diverse group's interests and needs are catered out. He is flexible with time and gives us good tips to get the best out of our every stop. The highlight was the Penguin Parade! I highly recommend this Go West tour. Highly professional and friendly !

Laszlo T December 2019

We had a phantastic tour with an amazing guide, Clem. She took care of us. We received special attention because of our baby as well and received a baby seat in the bus. It was a great tour, highly recommended!

Chelsea K December 2019

Our tour guide was a little flustered when picking up all the guests from different hotels around the city. It would have been easier if we all met at one central location for pickup. The Moonlit Sanctuary was an average attraction. We were told to choose lunch items from a short list of menu items; however, there were many more options and a whole other restaurant when we got to the Moonlit Sanctuary. Providing more flexibility for lunch at Moonlit Sanctuary would be good. The Penguin Parade was the highlight - we definitely recommend spending a little more for the guided ranger tour to ensure that you see penguins! We really appreciated that the bus had WiFi, as well. Overall, there were some things that could be improved but it was a great experience and trip, and we would definitely recommend!

Frederic D December 2019

Very well organized, very nice tour leader, highly recommended. Beautiful landscapes, very cute animals.

David Laszlo T November 2019

The pinguin show was unforgettabe - hoveer, you can not make any pictures to protect the animals. We had to wait amost 1 hour for the pickup all the guests, that was very boring and long, but the tour was excellent.

Ginette B November 2019

Beautiful day starting with the stop at Moonlit Sanctuary (we saw koalas and kangaroos). Stopped at Brighton Beach which is very beautiful with its blond sand and big waves then last but not the least stop at Pigeoins Island. It was very funny to see the penguins come back at night. Unfortunately, no photos or videos can be taken. The memories remain in our minds and can not share them. Pity. We recommend this tour.

jeremyc.harris November 2019

James, the guide, was brilliant Full of enthusiasm and positivity on a very wet day. Well organised and the penguins were well worth waiting for

Rajesh Kumar C October 2019

Phillip island penguin parade was an out of the world and a uniquely humbling experience. Not to be missed and an absolute must

Nelson S October 2019

We had a great trip to "experience" the penguins. It turned out it was pretty cold temperature-wise on the beach, so pack extra layers of clothing. The tour leader Joel did a great job, and the tour was a lot of fun.

Amyperkins724 September 2019

This tour was the highlight of our trip. Phillip Island is not to be missed. Our tour guide was friendly and informative and all the sights were amazing.

Larissa S September 2019

I highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide Ben was friendly, informative, and just a lovely guy.The penguin parade is a must see, so enchanting to watch them make their way back to their homes.

Noah S August 2019

Great tour! The bus arrived exactly on time and everything went very smooth throughout the day. Great commentary by Scott who handled everything with ease. I will definitely be using Go West Tours again. This was probably my favorite tour I've been on and we really got to see a lot. Penguins were really great to see and I had a really fun day.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
