Crocodile D February 2020

Chris was a super guide who knows a lot about nature and the animals in the rain forest. The bus drive takes quite a long time from Brisbane - about 2 hours there and 2 hours back. The rain forest walk itself is quite short - about 1 hour. The board walk takes about 15 minutes.

First day of sunshine after 5 gloomy and rainy days. It was refreshing and the birds were attesting to that. Many hours on the bus, but the stops were rewarding. The O’Reilly forest was amazing. David the tour guide and driver was knowledgeable and generous with all sorts of information. A highly recommended day trip, away from the city bustles.

Timely pickup outside Sebel Hotel. Coach to transfer from Brisbane to Gold Coast was a bit grubby and required a good clean. Once we transferred coaches the new one was fine. David the guide and driver was very informative and very knowledgeable. Plenty of time at each stop. He pointed out many interesting things along the way, Alpaca farm and winery was good... we stopped to look at the view at Tambourine mountain...when we got to O’Reillys we had lunch. Food was quite basic and the value was not there as we had prepaid.. pie chips and a salad with too much dressing. It is a great spot and if they lifted their quality it could be a much better experience. The walk through the rainforest was great.. David our guide was very good and he even got the various birds to fly onto our hands and feed off the worms he supplied. The tree walk and 300 year old tree were very interesting, the rainforest was so peaceful and we even saw a small snake!! then we had some free time. Feeding the parrots was a hilight and be sure to buy the bird seed ... David gives you a $1 voucher to use instead if paying the usual $3 or $5.. one tray is enough. The parrots fly onto you head , shoulder and really are a treat. The drive back to BRISBANE was good and David pointed out our various wildlife including some Wallabies. Overall a nice day out and enjoyed the experience - David was a very good guide and whilst you could drive there yourself you would miss out on most of the interesting facts plus the sights. Thank you

The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. The driver, Chris, was very knowlegeable about the places we visited and gave a very interesting commentary about them and the flora and fauna we saw along the way. The 2 hours at Lamington was plenty of time to walk a couple of the paths and enjoy lunch in the superb eatery where you could sit on the deck overlooking the fantastic views. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. David was a very giving tour guide with so much knowledge. We covered a lot of things, my favourite part (and reason for taking this trip) was the walk through the park and treetop bridge..wasn’t disappointed.

Terrible experience. Booked the tour over the phone with a woman who confirmed that we would be picked up from our hotel at 8:15 in the morning. Come to day of the tour, they were a COMPLETE NO SHOW. We spent over an hour and a half trying to talk to someone on the phone to get ahold of the driver. We were never able to get ahold of him. There was a phone number given to contact the tour day of, don’t count on it though, they don’t answer it. We got a refund and rented a car instead. It ended up being way cheaper and more enjoyable anyway because we could spend as much time as we wanted at the alpaca farm and the canopy walk. Which are free to visit by the way. So if you don’t mind driving on winding roads you can absolutely do the same thing on your own without a bunch of people.

First stop : 1 hour at a street full of shops, nothing else to see at Tamborine Mountain second stop. Wine tasting at O Reillys winery, also a very touristic third stop : was what I was expecting , visit to the rain forest. going around aprox. 2 KM The last stop is what I was expecting from the beginning when I booked the tour. The first two stops could be avoided.

There’s nothing bad about this trip. The BEST is having Dave the driver beyond the norm. He has a wealth of information. His knowledge of flora and fauna made this trip valuable. As I told him, he’s not the normal tour bus driver. The trip would have been average without him. And I made the best of the time when we stopped for a coffee stop. I took my own lunch and was able to get some souvenir shopping while I waited for the group to finish their lunch. So. I give Dave a Ten, which includes his walk in the forest, and a three for the coffee stop and some other time for wine tasting.

The tour guide gave us plenty of information about history, geography, birds, and so on. Scenery was great. Could have spent less time on Mount Tambourine, and more time on O'Reilly's.

Very well organized trip and authentic and interrested personnel. The Park itself is well worth the visit and was good value for Money. The Birds are spectacular.

David was just the best tour guide with 20 years of experience- extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of our trip and was bi-lingual as well! (English & Japanese) Just being in the rainforest, walking to the treetop canopy, and finding the adorable wallabies were extremely memorable. We loved feeding the exotic wild birds as well! Thank you!!

My husband and I booked this tour last minute the night before our scheduled tour, but JPT tours was able to help accommodate us and arrange pickup near our Airbnb in Brisbane. Our guide and driver was David, and he was knowledgeable, thorough, and funny not only about the cultural history of the places we visited, but also about the natural history of the land, animals, and plants we saw. We had a few people visiting from Japan in our group, and he switched from English to Japanese with super impressive fluency. We arrived in a small village in Mt. Tambourine first, and we got some time to see and visit the cute shops on the street. Our next stop was O'Reilly's vineyards where we could opt in for some wine tasting that was I think under $5 for 5-6 tastings. That tasting price also goes into the purchase of any wines you decide to purchase. Best of all, we were able to visit the alpacas on the farm and even buy packs of feed to interact with them. I just wish we had more time at this location because I love both wine and alpacas and could have probably spent another hour just playing with the alpacas. David then took us through another long, winding route through and up to the O'Reilly National Park, accompanied by his commentary about the scenery we drove through. When at last we arrived at the cafe for lunch, my husband and I had to place our orders since we opted out of the tour package that included lunch because we figured we wanted to have more options for lunch. No regrets about that at all. We were able to choose the lamb burger and mountain stew, and they were both perfectly lovely and made us realize how hungry we were. We dined on the patio, and so were joined by several brave and curious birds. After lunch, David led us on a trek through one of the many trails in the national park. Several of the birds on the path knew him, so they flew right to his hand once they saw the food in his palm, giving us an up close and personal view of these birds. After we crossed the terrifyingly high bridge, we had time to ourselves to explore and find other trails. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and highly highly recommended.

Awesome place for solo ravellers and hiking persons. You have to pay extra for Canopy tour and its quite far from Brisbane.

Stephanie S August 2019

The tour's guides were very knowledgeable and provided an interesting commentary to the region's history as well as the plants and animals of the rainforest. However, the tour through the rainforest was very rushed, leaving almost no time to take photos or to take in the scenery. Not much happening at the Alpaca farm earlier during the day. The lookouts were alright, but not breathtaking. Overall, not a recommendable day trip if you're looking for a tour to really experience the rainforest.

Lesley W August 2019

Our trip to Lamington National Park was very professional in the way the trip was run. The driver was very knowledgeable and could even whistle up a yellow chested Robin.

jentseng2019 August 2019

The guide was wonderful person and trip was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much. I will recommend this trip to my friends.

Monty_B July 2019

Our tour guide, Dave, was wonderfully informative and interesting. Buses were on time and comfortable. Highly recommended!

jmgGVA July 2019

The Park is two hours away from Brisbane, i.e. four hour round trip, so leaving at 8am, you would expect to have 3-4 hours to enjoy the forest. But the bus stops for 1h15 at totally uninteresting shopping places. It’s a shame, because the park is actually very beautiful and the guide was informative and trying to make the most of the little time we had there...

Safari03527667105 June 2019

The guide, David, really made the tour great. Made sure we would get to see the wildlife and gave interesting facts throughout the day.

lauractravel2019 May 2019

This was a wonderful experience. You go through the forest to get to the walk and then slowly walk up. The view was stunning. There is also bird feeding which again was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend, the only thing is you have to be a pretty confident driver to get up the narrow roads.

jeanine131 May 2019

I loved the trip, David our tour guide was excellent. The only thing I would suggest is to possibly bring your own lunch, food is quite expensive, was nice but expensive.

LindaE54 March 2019

Lots of driving but the scenery was beautiful, our guide David was knowledgeable and even with translating everything into Japanese he did a good job of imparting information. On our walk I was amazed when he called down robins and whipbirds for us to feed and on our drive back he slowed so we could see wallaby’s on the side of the road.

MarkTBegg March 2019

This place blew me away, stunning grounds with so much wildlife around it is a perfect day or stay. The walk through the forest and then the tree canopy walk is simply beautiful. We seen lots of bird species close up and the view from the top of the tree is amazing. We stayed here cause there is so much to see. Loved it

Travel57767993692 February 2019

Our tour guide made this a very memorable excursion. He shared is knowledge of the area, of the animal and of trees. He shared some of his worms to feed the birds. We had some folks on the excursion from Japan and he was fluent in Japanese so he shared the same info with them in Japanese. All-in-all an amazing tour thanks to our guide.
