Melbourne is a mecca for food with an eating culture bordering on the obsessive. But many of these best places are hidden from first sight in laneways and behind doors. This 3 hour small group walking tour lets you experience the best examples of what Melbourne offers. This tour offers the best aspects of Melbourne with the insight of your local guide that you cannot get from a guide book. Drink coffee, eat dumplings, sneak in a sweet treat and finish it off with a drink in a laneway bar the locals love – all included in your ticket price. See all the treasures of Melbourne and often it is said “wow – you wouldn’t even know this was here!” Do this on your first day in Melbourne and you’ll discover a whole lot more places to return to later in your stay!

Our guide Melinda was fantastic. A fifth generation Melbournian. Mel made the afternoon interesting, kept our attention, personable and friendly. Mel’s knowledge of the city was excellent. Highly recommended.

Melinda our guide was amazing. Very caring and full of knowledge. Thank you Melinda for a wonderful tour.

Fun knowledgeable guide and we got to know areas we hadn’t seen before Different food in each stop off and a good group

A MUST DO TOUR We are born and bred Melbournians and loved every minute of this secret life that Melbourne hides from our very eyes! Monqiue was marvelous, friendly and engaging and we really enjoyed the history she gave us. Vegemite on toast, old art deco buildings, graffiti, lane-way fashion stores, underground train stations with history (sadly history to be demolished in new constructions), coffee - oh Melbourne coffee; dumplings, pies, what more could you want? Definitely wear comfy shoes as you stand and walk a fair bit. But love this city we call home.

We loved the Melbourne Foodie walking tour! We got to try a lot of awesome foods and drinks and they did an amazing job of accomodating my celiac disease, I still felt like I got my money's worth! The Macarons were the best I have EVER had, the coffee was delightful and I ended up buying a lot of awesome treats to bring home from many of the shops we visited. Our guide was lovely and we were lucky enough to be the only two people on the tour so we got to spend extra time in the places we liked the most. MUST DO!

The selection of sampling’s is very good, from dumplings to macaroons. The selected restaurants are in close proximity to one another and information about the area is very interesting. None of the foods were Wow” experience, but they were all very good.

A total RIFF-OFF and one of the worst tours I have gone food wise. It was very expensive for what we got and should have been 1/2 the price as the food was cheap and nasty. Although the tour guide Monique was extremely knowledgeable, the food on the tour was cheap and nondescript and a disgrace to Melbourne. (Melbourne is the food capital of Australia). Firstly if you wanted to serve something Australian - you will bundle up vegemite and meat pie in one go not offer it as 2 tastings. It was a cheap shot. There should be tastings of multicultural cuisine like Italian etc instead of just Chinese dumplings. Instead of going to a macaroon shop you could stop for coffee and cake. Very poor. The guide was excellent just the quality of the food and the tastings. You could even widen the area.

What a sensational tour around some of Melbournes popular hot spots. Our tour guide Monique was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Melbourne’s laneways, buildings and hidden bars. We were shown where to find a good coffee and superb food, to-die-for chocolates, desserts, honeys and teas. All made with move from Melbournes finest locals. Do yourselves a favour and book this tour. We too away with us a taste of what this fabulous city has to offer. Food, fashion, history, a great coffee, ‘rockn’ bars, wonderful conversations and meeting new people. Thank you Monique for looking after us in great style!!!!

Was a perfect tour for us, me Melbourne raised and friend from the UK both introduced to delicious eateries, tastings, hidden laneways and interesting Melbourne history. Monique has created a relaxed informative walk. So pleased we discovered her tour it was good to meet a person who is passionate about Melbourne and the small but excellent businesses she introduced us too.

Delightful afternoon tasting Australian favorites as well as unique specialties. Honey tasting, mackerel dumplings, and delicious macaroons that rival what is available in France. Enjoyed the history and culture insights as well as the food!

Karina_W February 2020

A fantastic tour offering some really interesting information about the history of Melbourne combined with great food and drink. Would totally recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne, even if you have been here before like we had.

andrewrice February 2020

What a treat it was for our group to spend a few hours walking the streets with Monique. From amazing coffee, to honey, to meat pies and even a vegemite sandwich - she was first rate! Interesting, knowledgeable, affable and well spoken. Keep doing the great work doing. We will definitely be bringing a group back and would not miss this experience.

The tour guide makes the trip and lucky for us, Monique made the day for us. Beyond the food (which was wonderful) we learned Melbourne's history and culture along the way and in a style that makes it hard to forget. Towards the end, Monique told us we had really stayed in a 2 block square area (with dozen of twist and turns) and I was floored. The food was great, from the meat pies to our honey and candy stops. Foodie tours are a bit pricey, but no regrets here!

We visited Melbourne with friends and this trip turned out to be an unexpected hi light of our tour. Melinda our guide was engaging, knowledgeable and humorous. We explored the city’s lanes and eateries whilst learning lots of hidden secrets that we’d never have discovered on our own. The best food for me was Shandong Mamma Mini..... Dumplings to die for! Thank you Melinda. It was a real pleasure.

We had a lovely afternoon, walking the streets and sampling all manner of treats with our tour guide Malinda. We learnt quite a bit about the history , architecture and culture of the City. Great value for money!

We had a wonderful foodie tour with our amazing guide, Sue, who actually does know everything about Melbourne! A lovely way to spend a few hours and see parts of the city we would never have found.

Susan_W February 2020

Thoroughly enjoyed the food walking tour of Melbourne CBD. Sue our tour guide was wonderful. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about the inner city. We saw things you would never notice if walking around on your own. Loved exploring the various lane ways and will definitely explore them a lot more next time we are in Melbourne. The pie, dumplings, coffee and macaroons were very tasty. Don’t expect this tour to be all about and eating loads of food because it’s not. You discover lots of great and quirky places. Thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover inner Melbourne a bit more and get great information about some of the the history of Melbourne.

Mas123t January 2020

It was a pleasant enough tour with 7 nice people but it was not a particularly good food tour. I have been on various food tours which show you a city's hidden food treasures that you don't know as a visitor. This tour is basic with the 7 visits being made up of: 1) Vegemite on toast 2) half mince pie 3) ordinary coffee 4) great dumplings 5) honey tasting 6) a macaroon 7) glass wine at incredibly loud music noisey bar.. Melbourne food is so much more than this ....

michelle January 2020

We can thoroughly recommend this tour. Our guide was very friendly and informative and made the tour very interesting with her local knowledge. We went to places we would never have found on our own. It was also nice to meet the other people on the tour.

madelynk29 January 2020

We got a good tour of the laneways with great spots you could never find yourself, a true experience of the city & culture rather than typical tourist traps. Food was great, the several small bites left me satisfied but not stuffed. Our group was small and our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. I would honestly do the tour again with friends or family if I’m ever back in Melbourne!

arnoldgreg January 2020

We have just done this tour and thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne. Not only do you get to sample some great food but you experience the real Melbourne with secret lane ways, hidden coffee joints, a wonderful alfresco bar and some of its amazing history.

Monique led us on an amazing foodie experience not to be missed. Having been to Melbourne many times it was the first time I'd experienced the 'real' Melbourne. I loved the tour, informative, the right mix of foodie experiences and history. An easy walk packed with great treats, the time just flew by. I would do it again next time. Well done to the founders. Colleen
