I can not fault this tour, the tour guide was excellent, the places we called at where amazing. It was al long day and pumped full of new and wonderful experiences.
We had a great day on this tour. We were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday, on his actual day. We had a great group of people, nice weather, and nice stops along the way. Our tour guide Carola was amazing too! She made our day that much more special. Highly recommended tour. The wineries were great too, we visited Clairault/Streicker, this was also our lunch stop, and Robert Oatley winery.
ExploreTours Perth was absolutely wonderful and the 2 guides we had i.e. Chief Explorer Sue and Chief Explorer Erin were excellent. They were very informative about the places we were passing by, they were bubbly and friendly.
We had well timed stops. The Crooked Carrot Cafe was a delight. Good coffee and food, friendly staff and lovely surroundings. Along the way to Margaret River, we were told the history of some of the towns we passed, we stopped in Busselton where we had enough time to look around, enjoy the beach and stop at the Visitor's Centre and gift shop. We stopped at some stunning vineyards, had lunch, wine tasting and great coffee tasting. We went to a chocolate shop and a place where everything is made using virgin olive oil. Had to get out quickly from these shops before I bought too much! Also stopped by a few key stunning beaches on our way back.
In short, this is a great tour to go on and I would go on it again in a heart beat!
If you don't have much time in Perth like us this is a must do tour!It includs all that you need to see down south and very family friendly!Ofcourse Carola our tour guide who made the whole journey so enjoyable contributed the most. She was so friendly and thoughtful, and put in alot of effort in it
I had high expectations after reading the reviews for this tour, but was disappointed. The guide/driver, Graham, really seemed like he wasn't happy to be there. Very little information was provided. Sometimes we would stop somewhere and Graham would open the door to let us out and not say anything. He would be better suited as a silent cab driver than as a guide. Guides need to have A-type, outgoing and friendly personalities.
The timing of stops seemed odd. There was no need to spend 35 minutes at the jetty and then 30 minutes at some rocks by the ocean and then only have 10 minutes at the actual town where the guide went to gas up. More free time in the town and less time at the ocean stops would have been nice, considering we couldn't go swimming.
As for the river that this tour is named after: It doesn't exist. It's just dirt. We drove over a bridge at one point and looked out and saw no water. We saw a little bit of it near the ocean, but it was so low it didn't even connect to the ocean and looked more like a pond.
I enjoyed the wine tastings, however the wines weren't very good. Personally, I much prefer Italian, French, Greek, South African, and Californian wines. However, the staff at the first place vineyard we stopped at were great. We also had a nice lunch there.
Overall, this tour isn't worth the money or the ridiculously long day.
