I did it!! How many times have I driven past the Spit and thought of sailing or kayaking. And then NSW send out these vouchers for either dining or an outing. As a first timer in a kayak I had a great time. Our tour guide was very informative about points of interest or local history. Half way he even prepared a lovely morning tea with freshly made plunger coffee.

We had an amazing day on the harbour with our guide Connor. There were about 10 kayaks in our group and all mainly stuck together throughout the trip. The safety lesson at the beginning was efficient and included great tips for a first time kayaker such as myself. Our trip was broken by a lovely beach picnic halfway through at Flat Rock Beach. I recommend this to anyone with average fitness who is keen to explore a little more of Sydney in a unique experience. I also think it is a great way to dip your toe into kayaking before you hire one for the day. We will be back to hire kayaks again and do some exploring on our own. Thanks for a wonderful day - which just happened to be my 40th Birthday!! :)

The views and seeing another side of Sydney was amazing. Hearing the history of the area very interesting. Angela was a great guide. Lovely group of people on the tour, a lot of fun and laughter. Found facilities for showering and changing after the tour severely lacking, particularly if travelling from a distance.

It was total serenity on the harbour waters surrounded by the lush bushland, historic buildings and mega waterfront mansions. Tiernan had good local knowledge, was funny and made the morning very enjoyable. Morning tea at a secluded beach with waterfall to boot. Five stars !!

A massive thank you to Sydney Harbour Kayaks for an incredible kayaking experience. Last Saturday I joined you for the 4-hour Guided Kayaking Eco Tour through Sydney’s Middle Harbour and I had the most amazing time. I haven’t kayaked in over a decade so I was a bit worried about how I would cope. Fortunately, all my worries were cast aside as our guide Peter gave us an informative and thorough safety and equipment demonstration and talked us through our paddling journey and what to expect. Our small, intimate group of four meant that we could really soak up this picturesque part of Sydney and easily listen and learn about the natural and social history of the local area. Peter was an excellent guide and a wealth of knowledge. His passion for kayaking and the local area really shone through and he really made this kayaking tour a fantastic and memorable one. I loved learning about the shipwrecks, the architecture and the tightrope walker who tight roped across part of the harbour in 1877. The picnic lunch at Flat Rock Beach was superb with plenty of food to go around – rockmelon, pineapple, cheese, crackers, a selection of dips, chocolate cookies, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We were in two double sea kayaks, which were very stable and secure. We had the perfect weather conditions with blue sky, hardly any breeze and calm waters. Even when boats did pass us and cause a bit of a wave, the kayaks handled this perfectly and I didn’t feel unsteady at any time. My feet did get a bit wet when we stopped for lunch, but this was absolutely fine as they told us to bring trainers that could get wet. Overall, if you’re looking for a different perspective of Sydney or want to try something new, whilst learn about the local history, get out in nature and do some gentle exercise, then this is it. I strongly recommend Sydney Harbour Kayaks and everyone that I met throughout the day were friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. As well as guided kayak tours at the weekend, you can hire kayaks by the hour or half-day to explore on your own. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to explore more of beautiful Middle Harbour soon. I also came by bus from the city and this was really easy and convenient, with the bus stop approximately 200 metres from Sydney Harbour Kayaks.

A friend and I went on the eco tour this weekend with Angela as our guide and it was the most amazing experience!! I have never been kayaking before but Angela gives a talk and demo before we head off. We are provided with life jackets and assisted into the kayaks the staff making sure we are comfortable. we kayaked around the harbour and Angela gives an insightful and interesting explanation of different sights that we see. we stop by a lovely little beach for nibbles before we head back. Angela provided an amazing experience and she is an amazing guide . Having never kayaked before I was a little worried but through the experience Angela is always informative, calm, knowledgeable, patient and all round kind natured, she always put our safety and confort first , Always giving us little tips on stretching safety in the kayak or techniques on paddling should we feel fatigue, I would definitely go kayaking again with Sydney harbour kayaks and would be keeping this experience in mind for gift vouchers for friends! Thanks again Angela and team!

My boyfriend and I were beginners to kayaking and decided to join the Eco Tour to celebrate our anniversary. From the start, the customer service was welcoming and put us at ease when we were nervous about kayaking. Our guide, Peter, was essential in making our kayaking trip an incredible and unforgettable experience. He was an encouraging instructor and knew a lot about the history of the harbour, including its wildlife and historical structures. He took his time to tell us stories and answered all our questions. Moreover, when we got to the small beach to have lunch, Peter pointed out a beautiful waterfall for us to explore. The lunch was healthy, delicious and had more than enough for the three of us. Afterwards, Peter also took us to the mangroves for a quick tour which was spectacular. We were able to paddle amongst the majestic, old trees. The assistant kayak instructor also took lots of beautiful photos of us during the tour. At the end of the trip, Shannon emailed us all the photos in a timely manner. We cannot recommend Peter's tour more. It was a wonderful experience for the both of us as beginners. We'll definitely be back again.

Highly recommend Sydney Harbor Kayaks to Sydney locals, tourists and anyone in between. Our guide Peter showed us a little pocket of Sydney I'd never explored - in the 15 years I've lived here. I really appreciated that the tour was strongly intertwined with the local Indigenous history - learning some of their traditional practices, language and understandings of the land gave the morning an insightful element that I didn't expect. Also very much appreciated the delicious morning tea. Thank you so much! We'll be back for your Mangrove tour.

Such a good day to start with kayaking! I joined the eco tour in Sydney Habour Kayaks in last week. It is super worthwhile as their instructor is professional, fun and caring. We had a 4-hour wonderful tour and the instructor always explained in detail of the history and geographical situation during the tour. The eco-tour has a well-planned route. I enjoyed the eco tour very much and is super recommend. I can definitely view the other side of Sydney in the water:))

Such a shame that you can only give a maximum of 5/5 ratings for the amazing kayak trip we had! The eco-tour by Sydney Harbour Kayak was hands down one of my best experiences in Australia. Our guide, the fun and charming Kip, was an outstanding guide with a lot of great stories to tell. She took us on a wonderful 4 hour trip along the wilderness of the Spit bridge and then a short picnic at a nice and quiet beach. (The picnic food was simply amazing, gotta get my hands on more of those onion dips :P). The people at the store were very cool and professional. We had a place to change and to safely store our valuables. The whole trip takes about 4 hours and every second and cent was worth it. My rating: 10/10 for the service 10/10 for the tour 15/10 for our guide - The amazing Kip

What a breathtaking way to see a little known part of the best harbour in the world. Alex, our guide on the Kayaking Eco Tour, made sure we saw the eco-highlights of Middle Harbour at close quarters. Commentary was entertaining without being funny, accurate without being technical and pitched at just the right level. And all the time he ensured we were safe, keeping up and enjoying the experience. The "brunch" on a secluded beach not seven kilometres from the heart of Sydney was stunning. The goodies just kept coming. What a brilliant birthday gift it was! Greg

The tour is done in double kayaks and it's 4 hours long. We started at SHK and crossed the channel to Clontarf first. We were luck that there was almost no wind when we started so we could paddle a bit faster (according to our guide). We got to see many places that would be hard to get on foot and on bigger boats. The guide was fun and talked about places and their history. We got to visit the mangrove, which was a great view and experience. It requires some effort, paddling for around 3:30 hours is hard. But it's not extremely hard. Prepare your shoulder, biceps and forearms if you can. The stop for the morning tea was at Flat Rock Beach and it was great. We had coffee, tea, cheese, fruits, cookies and crackers. The way back is shorter and we got luck to have the wind helping a little bit. It was a great experience!

This kayak tour was absolutely amazing! I had been wanting to do this trip for ages after a friend recommended it. Thankfully I was given a voucher for my birthday for me and also my partner and two kids. I was worried that it wouldnt live up to my expectations, however it exceeded my expectations. The staff were very accommodating and patiently answered all of our questions. We were very lucky to get an amazing guide - Alec. He made the whole experience fun, enjoyable, informative, safe and he is a really great bloke. Thanks. The kayaks and equipment are at an excellent standard and the meeting venue is easily accessible. They took photos of the group and even shared them with us before we got home! Exploring Middle Harbour via kayak is priceless and we discovered some amazing hidden areas. Morning tea was on a secluded beach and we even had hot coffee as part of that. 5 out of 5 all round. Thank you!

I booked the Middle Harbour Eco kayaking tour for me and my friend. We had great company, a great guide and a beautiful experience. Kayaking amongst the mangroves was particularly peaceful and picturesque. I would definitely recommend this to friends.

Jenny7007 December 2018

Our super enthusiastic guide, Alec, led us past amazing water-side mansions and luxury yachts up into the Garigal National Park where we enjoyed a fantastic picnic morning tea on a secluded beach. Four hours paddling was easy and I would highly recommend the eco tour for young families, visitors to Sydney and anyone just wanting to experience the Sydney waterways from a different perspective. Wish we had taken a camera.

Australyve December 2018

This was my first experience of kayaking and I found the Middle Harbour location beautiful, the weather perfect and our guides excellent and caring. The overall duration was perhaps a little long for someone without any experience - good workout - but I could have enjoyed a tow if I wanted. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous time on our corporate photo challenge guided tour. The Sydney weather was awesome for the tour in November, not too hot or too cold. Beautiful scenery and informative guides. Great day, enjoyed by all.... Thanks Team!

Lisa S October 2018

A wonderful morning paddle around Middle Harbour, led by a great guide, Alex. The highlight for me was the mangrove field -- quiet, with light reflecting through the leaves and onto the water. Also a great sense of the waterways of the harbour, and the vegetation that even the fancy real estate can't hide. Perfect weather on top of it!

Vanessa P May 2018

The weather turned it on for us to enjoy a truly informative, relaxing and sometimes physically challenging Eco Tour of Middle Harbour. Our guide Sol was incredibly knowledgeable and eager to assist us enjoying the experience as best he could, as were the support staff. All succeeded. My first organised Kayak tour - it won't be my last!

EuroTripping2013 May 2018

This is a great part of the world. Having sailed Middle Harbour often, I wasn't sure that the experience would be much different. However, the kayak allowed us to travel slower and closer to the shoreline so we could observe and investigate more, and travel up into the mangroves (fortunately it was high tide). Our guide was knowledgeable about the area and its history (First Nation and Colonial), even though he was Canadian! Enjoyed the day immensely, although I forgot to take along a waterproof bag for the camera, so no photos :-(

Betsy C April 2018

Great morning doing the eco tour around middle harbour. I have lived in this area all my life and, as well as some very enjoyable kayaking, learned many new things about this section of the harbour and its history. Thank you.

Leigh M March 2018

I want to thank the team at Sydney Harbour Kayaks for an amazing morning! I have lost a lot of weight and am part of a support group that meets every month. We also incorporate activities that we haven't been able to do before when we were at our heaviest weights. From my first phone call to Angela, they have looked after us and have been very accommodating and understanding. I was able to book in a 'Mini Wellness Retreat' which included kayaking and yoga on the beach half way through the trip. Jo our instructor was an absolute delight! We were nervous about being in the water, worrying about if the kayaks would tip (they are very stable!) and Jo was reassuring and helpful and gave us the time we needed to feel comfortable. Within minutes we were all paddling around like a pro! I'm already looking at dates that I can go back with my partner, if only I lived nearby because I would be doing it every day! Going first thing in the morning was perfect because there wasn't as many people out on the water and it was calm when we were out there. Thanks again to the team, highly recommended!
