Relax on this 6-hour, small-group kayaking tour of the Coorong National Park and Murray Mouth region. A walk across the sand dunes to the Southern Ocean will allow you to stretch your legs while the guide takes you on a bush tucker walk. This tour includes delicious food, three hours of kayaking, and numerous stops along the way.
During this 6-hour tour, explore the Coorong and see one of South Australia’s best-kept secrets. Just 52 miles (85 km) south of Adelaide is the internationally recognized Coorong Wetlands. Stretching more than 86 miles (140km), the Coorong National Park protects a string of spectacular saltwater lagoons that are sheltered from the Southern Ocean by the sweeping, rolling sand dunes of the Young Husband Peninsula. The best way to explore these waterways is by kayak. See your itinerary for this tour below:
• 9am - Arrive at the end of Mundoo channel drive (Hindmarsh Island)
• 9:30am - Everyone on the water
• 10:15am - Arrive Barkers Knoll for morning tea

• 1:30pm - Depart Young Husband Peninsula
• 2:10pm - Arrive at Murray Mouth
• 2:30pm - Depart Murray Mouth

David_Teubner November 2021

We discovered Canoe the Coorong while looking for somewhere to spend out Great State voucher, and I'm very glad we did. we met James, our guide, on Hindmarsh Island exactly on time. It was a very cold and overcast day for November, but James was very positive about the lack of wind which made us feel better. The weather turned out perfectly, of course. Our tout consisted of a kayak of about an hour, flowed by morning tea then a walk across the sandhills to the ocean, then much, then a kayak to the Murray mouth for afternoon tea then back to the cars. The day was fantastic. The food was a really pleasant surprise, really tasty and great stories to go with it. The bird life was amazing, and James was a knowledgeable guide, adding a lot to the experience. Apparently the kayaks hardly ever tip, but hardly ever is not never and we did finish up going for a little swim as we were coming ashore for afternoon tea due to a combination of current and bad seamanship ;) A small towel and jackets in the provided dry bag saved the day though. Thank you James and Brendan our a great day. We'll be back for the sunset trip!

We did the full day 6 hours kayaking and loved it. About 3 hours paddling the rest of the time was spent looking at the Sandhills beach and bush tucker. Was a good balance for me who is not very fit. Great friendly guides

Fantastic relaxing day out. Very organised and knowledgeable, personal experience. The kayaking was great but the biggest surprise was the lovely fresh cooked lunch we received... cooked right there on the beach.

We had a fantastic experience. Kayaking was an excellent physical activity while we learned and enjoyed the Coorong wildlife and history. Brenton has full of knowledge about the area and also has a gentle and caring soul. He guided and looked after us thoughtfully. Highly recommended!!

It was a full day! Fabulous, an amazing experience in a very beautiful and fragile part of S.A. We were led by the experienced, knowledgeable, all round good guy Brenton. He made it all seem so easy, despite really inclement weather. His knowledge of Indigenous foods and generally the local environment was relayed to us in a fun but very informative way. Delicious lunch, enjoyable scramble over the lovely sand dunes. It’s a must do trip!

Great way to see this very special place, guide James was knowledgeable about the area and history, kept us all safe, and put everyone at ease, and cooked us a delicious lunch. I'll be recommending this adventure to everyone!

This was an amazing day - excellent canoeing and a really excellent guide. Jacko was knowledgeable (lots of information about the area, about the bush tucker, the paw prints of different animals). He also surprised us with beautiful fresh whiting - caught yesterday - to put onto the burger. He was equally at ease with old and young - a real pleasure! Can't wait to do an overnight tour one day!

This’s our first time kayaking. Such an amazing experience. Thank you Jamie for taking care of us and doing a great job of introducing the place.

Our family of two adults and four children (13,11,8x 2) did the Coorong Tour today with James and it was fantastic. Everyone in the family had a wonderful time with our guide James being very knowledgeable and inclusive of all on the tour. We would highly recommend this to anyone interested in exploring the Coorong up close and personal with a great company.

An absolutely incredible experience. A delicious locally sourced spread kept us well fueled as we paddled along the beautiful banks of the Coorong. With our guide James we had some good conversations while he helped us learn about wildlife, fauna and the beautiful surrounds. 10/10 would reccomend

Fantastic! My teenage daughter and I did the Sunset Tour and enjoyed every minute. The Coorong is such a magical place and kayaks are a great way to experience it. The guides were helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and the kayaking was good exercise but enjoyable rather than extreme. We got to see the fur seals from a respectful distance, then they came to see what we were doing. Kayaking back in the twilight, we were joined by more seals and a dolphin or two. I would really recommend this experience. I've ticked the "not sure" box for families with kids - that's because it would depend on the kids. If you can absolutely trust them to be respectful and well-behaved, it would be great but if they're kids who need to blow off steam, probably wait a few years.

Such a special experience, the best way to see the Coorong. From start to finish the day was full of great experiences, yummy food and knowledgeable and friendly guide Will So much to pack in on the water, pelicans, terns, seals and dolphins! Paddling around an amazing national park, a walk through the dunes to see the locals a little echidna toddled by and an insight into local flora and native food and history. Such great food too, fish burger cooked on the shore, yummy biscuits and chocolate milk and cake at the Murray mouth Could not have asked for more, great value and wonderful support all at a manageable pace. Thank you thank you thank you
