We showcase the region known as Gariwerd by the local Indigenous people. A spectacular series of rugged mountain ranges to the west of Melbourne. Home to an abundance of kangaroos, wallabies and other native animals and rich in natural wonders with stunning waterfalls and panoramic mountain views. This Grampians tour includes short walks to some of our favourite spots and includes a visit to the award-winning Brambuk the National Park & Cultural Centre for an insight into the history of the people, the landscape and the wildlife that make up this region.
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Grampians National Park, Halls Gap, Victoria 3381 Australia

In one day we take you from Melbourne to experience the highlights of this breathtaking National Park.

You will feel as though you have stepped back in time as you marvel at the Ancient Landscape with rugged mountain ranges and spectacular sandstone ridges. With an experienced guide leading you through this incredible scenery, you will come away from tour with a new understanding of the countryside and history of the region.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Halls Gap General Store, Grampians road, Halls Gap, Victoria Australia

Before heading ‘up the mountain’ we relax in the picturesque town of Halls Gap, right in the heart of the Grampians National Park for time to grab lunch (at your own expense).

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Brambuk The National Park & Cultural Centre, 277 Grampians Rd, Halls Gap, Victoria 3381 Australia

Once we have arrived in the picturesque National Park, we head to Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where you can explore and see first hand the creation stories that make up the lore of this diverse landscape. Venture around the cultural centre to spot wallabies, emus and maybe even echidnas in the bush. Come away with a deeper understanding of the significance of Gariwerd for the Indigenous people.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Boroka Lookout, Mt Difficult Road, Halls Gap, Victoria 3381 Australia

A picture stop at the marvellous Boroka lookout perfectly depicts the incredible scenery. Depending on the weather and visibility we may alternatively head to Lake Bellfield to walk out along the damn and feel dwarfed in-between the two mountain ranges.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: MacKenzie Falls, Victoria Australia

Probably the most famous waterfall in Victoria, we hike down to the base and back to marvel at the sheer amount of water and to feel the fresh spray in the air. The hike is about 250 steps to the base and back and if you prefer an easier flat walk out over the top of the falls this is absolutely fine!

If ever Mackenzie Falls were closed to the public this stop would be substituted for a peaceful hike to Silverband Falls.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: The Balconies, Reeds Lookout Carpark, Victoria Australia

We then enjoy a hike along the shady path through the gumtrees and fascinating rock formations out to The Balconies, here you will see the famous ‘Jaws of Death’ with majestic views and scenery, featured in the Japanese Animation ‘Princess Mononoke’.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Reed Lookout, Halls Gap, Victoria Australia

Reeds Lookout affords sweeping views down to Lake Wartook and out over the Victoria Valley and the Mount Difficult Range.

The driver is nice and friendly. He kept telling us the story of places we visited. We enjoyed the trip :)

13 hour trip with only two hours spent doing anything remotely interesting. 4 x short (30 mins) stops “comfort breaks and to get food/drink”. Very difficult walk to the waterfall (and we are fit and healthy), so completely overrated part of the trip as by the time you get down you have to walk back! Yes the view of the Grampians is stunning (but by the time you’ve walked to the Balconies to see it) you’ve got about 10 mins before you get back. As for lunch included, a soggy baguette (we got our own food). Very disappointing and not good value for money. The description of the trip is totally misleading. We were a party of three adults, one being our adult daughter so none of the options for “who were you with?” apply.

We got to see wildlife (wallaby, kangaroo, emu, deer), wonderful landscapes , got some hiking done, and MacKenzie falls alone made the trip worthwhile. Good guide, right amount of stops, 12 hr excursion, but we knew it---wobderful day

Marcelle P February 2020

Very enjoyable journey to the several breathtaking lookouts and hike to the bottom of McKenzie Falls. Richard, our tour guide, was quite knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. We will enjoyed chatting with him throughout the day.

We had a great day out in the Grampians. It’s very scenic and the falls were lovely. Sylvain is a very good guide and wanted to make sure we all enjoyed the day. Would definitely recommend this tour

While the Grampians ideally require more than one day if you’re traveling from Melbourne, this is I think the best tour if you’re pressed for time. We got to see so much of the amazing scenery, as well as kangaroos and emus in the wild, but the thing that really made the tour was our bus driver, guide, first aid officer and DJ Tim. Tim’s commentary was hilarious, informative and super interesting - there was never a dull moment as he told us about Australian culture, Indigenous and European history, current affairs, what life is like in an Australian town, details about the various animals, and stories of his own life. Along the way he played fantastic music and other audio that was relevant to where we were and what we are doing. This is far better than going by yourself on such a trip - book this if you want a memorable one day Grampians experience.

Excellent tour and guide. Day itinerary adjusted to account for weather by the guide resulting in amazing photos at each stop

My husband and I went on this day tour during our honeymoon. It was amazing. The highlight of our trip was definitely the MacKenzie Falls. It was very beautiful and romantic. The hike back up was no joke but I recommend going down to the bottom of the waterfall if you can.

Claire L November 2019

Even though this is a one day trip there is so much you will get to see!! Highly recommend!!! Kurt, our tour guide, was so informative about local history and chilled Auz music made the whole trip so enjoyable!!!

Muriel T November 2019

I was very happy with the Grampians Tour. We could see gorgeous landscapes and the day has been very pleasant. As we were also lucky with the weather, that was a very interesting experience in a wonderful place. Thanks to the guide and driver, who tried to share a lot of informations

We had a great day in the Grampians with beautiful views! Daniel our guide and driver did everything for us: DJ, Entertainer, „Cook“ and he told us a lot about the Grampians and the animals. Thanks Daniel for being the best guide! We recommend this tour for everyone as it is not too difficult to hike. It was absolutely a fun day!

Zoé I August 2019

Spent an amazing day there, with panoramic views in the mountains and waterfalls! We saw kangaroos and other native animals from Aussie :) so cute The guide was so kind, I recommand Wildlife Tours for this tour!

Ruth J July 2019

Really enjoyed the trip. Alan was a great guide and very friendly and helpful. It’s a long way to go in a day but worth doing if you’re short on time.

Our Wildlife Tours Grampian tour was really enjoyable despite it being a foggy day meaning the bigger views were a picture of grey. Our tour guide Daniel was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great fun, trying and succeeding in adapting quickly to the miserable conditions.

We took a tour with Go West and had a fabulous day. It was an early start at 7.20am being picked up from our motel in Franklin St. The views and the waterfalls in the National Park are breath taking. We had morning tea on the way and lunch before heading into the National Park all included in the tour. It is a very long day as we did not get back till 8.30pm being dropped off and our motel. If you have the time this tour is well worth while doing.

Robyn M December 2017

Spent a absolutely delightful day on our Grampians Park Day Trip. Gerry our tour guide was very informative on where we were to be heading, what we were going to see and gave a lot of details relating to the area and how it became to be the Grampians. It was truly a spectacular day with glorious views of both the Grampians as well as the MacKenzie Falls. A long day with a lot of driving but it was well worth the travelling to see this wonder which is in our backyard of Australia. We are so blessed to have such wonders/sights/flora and fauna in this country to visit and enjoy.

yenti October 2017

This tour is amazing, nice scenery. Pizza for lunch is too simple.

Samantha Lim April 2017

Time spent at each attractions is well balanced. Simon Q is an excellent guide.

Mark_Z January 2017

The ride from Melbourne is much too long for a one day trip. We spend 8 hours round trip on the bus, 4 hours in the park. Because it was a holiday Melbourne Cup lunch was a sandwich with one slice of meat so thin you could see through it. No drinks. The bus was old and dirty.

Shaun B December 2016

An amazing trip out to the grampians which was mostly thanks to our tour guide Tim. A great journey to the grampians with great commentary, suitable Australian music to accompany the stories and stop offs at good locations. I highly recommend it.
Thanks Tim!

Susan W February 2016

This was a great and intimate tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and tried to stop wherever possible to allow us to see the local sights and any wildlife. Worth every penny spent!

cuauhtemocg798 October 2019
