Departing Melbourne at around 8am, you'll pass through Western Plains of Victoria on the way to historic Ballarat. Ballarat boomed in the 1850’s with the widespread discovery of gold in the district. Learn a little about the history and enjoy morning tea at the site of the infamous Eureka Rebellion. Continue the drive through the picturesque western volcanic plains, passing through the town of Moyston, the birthplace of Australian Rules Football.

Arrive at the foot of the Grampians Range known as Gariwerd in the local Jardwadjali language and immerse yourself in the Australian bush with a gentle stroll to Silverband Falls.

Continue to the township of Halls Gap for lunch. Keep an eye open for the local kangaroos and the abundant birdlife that can be seen in the main street. After lunch, head to the Wonderland Turntable for a short hike to the Grand Canyon.

Your last stop is MacKenzie Falls. No trip to the Grampians would be complete without a visit to these majestic falls.

A bit late with this review but had a fantastic day with our tour guide Leonie who shared her knowledge about the area and kept us entertained! I highly recommend this tour.

Our tour started off with a lively and warm greeting from the guide , Mel. She has a lot of energy and provided us with information and history on the place we visit. Its a great experience walking at the Grampians and we also had a few spectacular scenic stops for lookouts. We especially enjoyed the outdoor lunch in the vicinity of Grampians and being up close and personal with the wild kangaroos and cockatoos nearby.

From the hospitality, to the introduction to Melbourne, to the music that goes along with the scenary, everything is perfect. Love the fact that she disinfects her vehicle and provides hand santisers to us as well. Must try!

I did this tour on the 14th of March and had an incredible time! Katherine picked me up in the morning and was full of amazing energy from the very start. She told us stories about the area and kept us well entertained throughout the day. Turns out she is also an actor and if she is half as good at acting as she is at being a tour guide then she's destined for big things. She prepared morning tea for us in a place called Eureka which was a very interesting stop that I was not expecting. Then we went to Hall's Gap for a quick hike, some lunch, and then more exploring. We then headed to the magnificent MacKenzie Falls and then finished at Baroka Lookout which was breathtaking. This tour takes all of the hassle out of exploring what is quite a remote area. You hit all of the highlights without having to worry about a thing and can be back in the city in time to grab a late dinner. If you are thinking about exploring the Grampians then I highly recommend taking this tour!

Went to a day trip to Grampians National Park with Leonie, it was a great day, Leonie is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable about wide life and nature in general, ask her a question and you will get an answer, for non-native speakers - she speaks very clearly and is happy to explain things time and time again. Leonie, you were great! Monika and Pawel

Katherine was a great host went all the way to please .. in my words was a sweety. The trip was great lots of stop offs, weather was kind which made the experience perfect.

I would like to thanks my tour guide, Leonie who's extremely patient and friendly lady. Everything went smoothly during the tour. Great itinerary with beautiful sceneries. The most memorable was the kangaroos visit. It was a day that I will never forget. Thank you, Leonie and Go West Tours.

Teresa_N March 2020

Amazing experience saw lots of wildlife in their natural habitat and the tour guide Jon was very knowledgable and approachable . I would definitely recommend the trip to see Australia at its best.

A fantastic day out, with some amazing scenery and views. Our guide, Mel was also fantastic and demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the area. Her enthusiasm, humour and energy made a great day out one of the highlights of our holiday! Well done Mel!

Paul was a great tour guide, and the locations we visited were spectacular. In that sense, the tour was perfect. While it was already a long day, I would have appreciated a few more minutes at some of the stops. It felt a little bit rushed, but we did see a lot in one day so I can't really complain. Where I do think they could improve is just by updating some info in the listing here. I think calling it a "small-group" isn't quite accurate. We were on a 24 passenger bus. There were only 17 of us on the day I took the tour, but I still wouldn't call that a small group. The listing is also a bit misleading, stating that departure is at 7am and pickups start before that. I was the first person picked up, and 7:00am exactly. It took almost an hour to pick everyone up. Then on the way back, the last person picked up was the first person dropped off. Drop offs were a bit quicker, only an extra 30 minutes on the bus for me, the last drop off, but that made my day an hour and a half longer than the last group to be picked up, and that whole extra hour and a half was siting on the bus driving around the city picking up and dropping off other passengers. Not my idea of a good time. So, either drop off first who you pick up first, or make a central meeting spot for everyone to meet for pickup and to be dropped off at.

Very interesting, informative and thoroughly enjoyable day trip. Our tour guide extraordinaire, Paul really enhanced the whole experience with his knowledge and easy articulaton of the history and stories from the beginning of the trip & throughout. Great music selection! Very welcoming, amiable, interactive and interested in all on board. Definitely recommended.

The eco part of this tour was worth five stars. We visited several locations in the Grampians National Park including MacKenzie falls and The Grand Canyon. It was a full day with no time wasted so it was great. We left at 7.00am and returned at 10.20pm so it was good value. Lunch and morning tea was included. Adrian, our guide cooked three lovely cakes for morning tea. The Australiana music in the afternoon was great. But the early morning music whilst picking up travellers was of a variable volume sometimes fine but often too loud making it difficult to have a quiet conversation or listen to a personal mp3. It was even louder coming back into Melbourne and quite spoiled the end of the day making it impossible to finish listening to the book I was enjoying listening to. It would be great if the eco tour theme was incorporated into the whole day not just morning tea time to 9.30 pm.

Great tour leader. Informative, well coordinated and generally pleasant trip. Cons the bumpy highway and scavenging birds.

libbi22x March 2020

The tour was great! Mel was knowledgable, fun and made the day enjoyable for all passengers, best part of my trip in Melbourne and would highly recommend booking one of these tours if you get the chance!

Samhill010 March 2020

Incredible day, had so much fun. Our tour guide (Mel from Melbourne) was fantastic, couldn’t of asked for anything more.

ktaite February 2020

Be sure to take a camera. The scenery was incredible; we saw kangeroos and lots of birds. The hike through the park was very rocky, so ensure you wear good footwear. I wore walking runners and was fine. Before we started the hike, our guide made sure everyone understood the hiking conditions. Sarah was a great tour guide; she was knowledgeable, attentive, safety conscious and very organized. Sarah liked keeping the group together, referring to us often as family - she even wanted us all to cross the road together. Sarah also made great arrangements for lunch and dinner.

FairyJaneC February 2020

It was superb! Thanks to our tourguide Leonie we had an unforgatteble experience in the Grampians. The weather was perfect, we did see all animals in wildlife and even close, Wallabies, Roos, even a Dear, all kind of bird. Leonie made the ride shortwhile with her interesting stories and nice music she specially sampled for the tour. Thank you again! Fairy Jane & Werner

It was a great trip with Leonie. I would recommend everybody to take the tour. Specially the background informations were quite interesting.

Nicole_S February 2020

We thoroughly enjoyed Grampians National Park! It was a gorgeous day with fun, yet challenging hikes, beautiful views and lots of wildlife. Katherine the Great was the best guide we had over a 6 week holiday in Australia. Her grand retreat saved us from the Emu War of 2020! Katherine was also a master dj with amazingly clever playlists coordinated with our activities. It is a long drive but the Grampians are so worth it and Katherine made it fun. I think we sang the whole way back!

Antoinette L February 2020

We were looking forward to have a good time on our trip to the Grampians and the drive was good.BUT, breakfast and lunch is false advertising as it suits more for a 6 year old child on a school excursion. It was discussing to see what was presented to us, We paid $420.00.Also not being accommodated to be dropped of to our choice of destination on returning home (wouldn't have inconvenienced other passengers ) It took us an extra 2 hours to get home which was 11 pm. We have taken tours with other campanies and was great. This was our first with tripadvisor and will be the last. Very disappointed and would appreciate to be refunded part of our tickets.

eyvind_e February 2020

good tourguide Adrian and nature beautifull. long drive in a bus may be too long special drive between the hotels took up to 2 hours of the total trip.

ms-ginachen February 2020

It's the best tour I've ever joined. The scenery is beautiful beyond description. Phil, the driver and tour guide, is sweet, kind, and excellent. He took good care of everyone. I enjoyed the tour very much and had a best time in Melbourne.

Djarmila1978 February 2020

Did the Grampians day trip today with Adrian and seriously enjoyed the trip. The stops were well selected even though I personally could have done without the Silverband Falls (at least in summer). The stops were a mix of lookouts, small hikes and waterfalls, so you get a good impression of the beauty of the Grampians. I felt like we got enough time to enjoy the stops even though more time would be great, but with a day trip that's just not possible. Adrian was funny and interacted with all of us, tried to help with requests and pictures. The atmosphere was really good and help made this day trip so great. I did 3 tours with 3 different providers in Melbourne but liked this the most.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
