The kids, wife and I went on this tour in january. It was fascinating to chat with chappo the business owner and his son Alec. Chappo had been out fighting all the bushfires over the summer and gave us first hand accounts of his experences. Hayden was our driver and had a wealth of knowledge about the blue mountains. Cannot recommend enough, it was great.

the scenic views from the bottom of the canyon make you feel like you are in a Jurassic park movie! Blue Mountain Tours did an excellent job of our full day tour from Sydney! A great value for what is received!

Four of us booked this trip through our Concierge at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney where we were staying,we were picked up by Mini-Bus early morning from outside of our hotel and made our way out of the city as we were given a guided tour as we went. Our first stop off was to spot Kangaroos in the wild near to a military site where we were lucky enough to see a handful of them fairly close up,from there we proceeded to a BBQ site where we stopped off for a breakfast of Egg and Bacon rolls and a Coffee, there are toilet facilities here. After our breakfast we continued on up through the Blue Mountains to a place with a Waterfall where we stopped for photos and a short walk along a Gorge where our excellent guide Haydon pointed out various Trees and Plants etc. By this point the Rain was coming down pretty heavily so we donned our Waterproofs which we had brought with us,so do come prepared if the forecast is for rain. We then made the short journey to where the Blue Mountains visitor centre and viewing point are located but which unfortunately for us was shrouded in Mist and cloud cover so were unable to even see anything at all,so disappointed !! so we instead spent our time here wandering along the various paths and had a brief look around the souvenir shop and the visitor centre. It was then a short drive to the area that had Cable Car and train rides, the walking trail at the bottom of the Cable Car ride was particularly enjoyable despite the constant downpour we were experiencing and it was probably the rain that brought to life all of the smells of the fauna which was quite exhilarating to the senses, sadly the mist prevented us enjoying what must be some incredible views whilst on the various rides. Lunch followed at a local restaurant which was decent enough before then heading off to the Featherdale Wildlife Park, this was excellent and was the highlight of the day for most people, everything from exotic Birds and Kolas as well as many reptiles and even a Crocodile. To end the day off we then headed back to Parramatta Ferry Port for the delightful cruise back along the river and harbour to Circular Quay to disembark. An excellent day out was had and considering what we had covered during the day it was excellent value for your money, such a shame about the weather but that's nature,a BIG thank you was due to our brilliant guide Haydon who was excellent throughout and certainly kept our spirits up despite the weather with his endless little stories with plenty of good Aussie wit and charm.

Even though the bush fires were in full effect when we visited, the team/tour guide was great. The breakfast at the beginning was a great way to meet everyone, though a couple more rations of bacon wouldn't have gone a miss. Lunch was ok. The whole day went smoothly and would recommend using this company if you're doing a trip to the blue mountains.

We knew we wanted to take a tour into the beautiful Blue Mountains and Chloe at Sheraton at Hyde Park suggested this tour group... from the moment we got on the small tour bus, Sean kept us informed about the days activities as well as filled us with his knowledge of his homeland of Blue Mountains. We were able to see Kangaroo in their natural habitat, due to Sean knowing the area so well. We stopped for a wonderful breakfast and met the owner Graham and his son and heard about the recent fires. We went into the Blue mountains where we were able to see the Three Sisters from a gondola, the tram to the bottom and then a train back up to the top with spectacular views After all of this the fun continued where we had a great lunch all arranged for us and then off to Featherdale where the interaction with the Kangaroo, Koalas and other Aussie animals was absolutely amazing Our day concluded with a ferry ride back into Sydney 12 hour day full packed full of fun! Would completely recommend over and over again! Highlight of our trip to Sydney ... would recommend to everyone ! Thanks Sean !!!!

Good tour. Experiences all day long. From wildlife sightings and visits to natural formations to a walk in a nature preserve we saw a brief glimpse of the diversity of the Blue Mountains. Add in rides on cable cars, a funicular and a boat and it was a full day. Hayden was knowledgeable, informative and always willing to answer questions.

The best tour we, 10 of us has ever taken. Right from the beginning, booking to the end of tour was excellent. We had booked the tour 2 months in advance. News of the fire reaching some coastal area of Sydney was concerning as all of are seniors, so we cancelled our Blue Mountain Tour. Graham, the owner of the company immediately processed the full refund credit. But he wrote us detailed email regarding the fire was contained in the area of our travel, By the way Graham is a senior Fireman and he was out there at the forefront every day! So we asked him that upon our arrival in Sydney on Jan 24th, if we decide to take the tour on 25th can he do it ? He was so nice enough to do it at the old price. Our tour guide Hayden was excellent. He was most courteous, knowledgeable and took care of everything we can ask for. I would highly recommend this your company to really explore and enjoy the Blue Mountain beauty. On a personal note, I would like to thank Graham, Hayden and rest of their staff to make the tour flow less. They are true professionals.

This tour was, hands down, the best value I have ever received for my money on a tour. The day was absolutely jam packed with activities and no expense was spared. Our tour guide, Hayden, is the best guide ever. His stories were engaging and his knowledge of the local fauna and wildlife was excellent. What a wonderful day. We will tour with this company again!

We had just finished a cruise from Vancouver to Sydney and on our last day we took a tour of the Blue Mountains. It was the highlight of our journey. On the bus ride from Sydney, we were greatly entertained with Chapo’s tales of Australia’s first European immigrants. They were mostly ‘criminals’ deported from London, England, one having stolen a single loaf of bread for her hungry family and then later returned it to the shop. On the way, we were served a good breakfast (from the ‘Barby’) before visiting the Three Sisters look outs. Then Chapo guided us, on a cable car, down to a natural arboretum of incredible plant life at the foot of the ridge, before we rode an almost vertical railway (originally built for an old coal mine) back up the cliff face. A second cable car ride took us to the terminal for another good meal and then we were on our way to see Featherdale Wild Life Park’s herds(?) of kangaroos, wallabies, cockatoos, kookaburras and koalas (they are not bears, they are marsupials), emus, wombats (they are not bats), many other uniquely Australian animals including one of the largest living pre-historic crocodiles on the planet. The tour concluded with a spectacular, modern fast ferry cruise down river to Sydney harbour. And, as the boat was leaving, Chapo and his family were waving goodbye on shore, we almost decided to stay in Australia. Book early, these small bus tours sell out regularly. We nearly missed it. Here is all you need to know: they aren’t mountains, they aren’t blue, if you meet an Australian girl, her name is probably Alice and when walking under a gum tree, make sure a drop bear doesn’t fall on you. LOL All joking aside, this is a great tour and well worth the cost. If you have kids, this is the tour for you. The kids on our tour had a blast. Our guide Hayden (AKA Louise) was great. He could really “spin a yarn”. (AKA tell a story). Here are some things which set this apart from all others: 1. They pick you up at your hotel. 2. Breakfast with the Kangaroos or Kookaburras in the National Park 3. The 3 Sisters: tram and railway ride (super steep). 4. Lunch: the food selection and taste were pretty good. 5. Wildlife Reserve 6 Cruise to Darling Harbour As with all memorable tours, the guide and the other tourists are what really make it great. My only suggestions are to spend more time at the 3 sisters overlook so you can walk to the waterfall and 3 sisters and have the cruise go under the bridge so you can photograph the Opera House. Check it out.

SFTravelerDL January 2020

Our guides were very enjoyable and knowledgeable. We were surprised it covered so many different sites and activities. It is well worth the price and we got to get up close and see different animals in captivity and kangaroos in the wild. We went before the current fires.

SuSu022001 January 2020

This tour was recommended for our family of 4 by the Intercontinental Sydney. We had been booked with another company and cancelled due to the bushfire activity. After learning the owner was a volunteer firefighter, we decided to rebook with this group. Hayden, our tour guide, was so enthusiastic and kind. He was unable to take us to the regular spot for seeing wild kangaroos, so instead drove us to a local spot where he grew up to see them. What an experience! We really enjoyed all of the extra touches, including having breakfast cooked for us by Chapo and his son at the park. The van had a cooler filled with water and Hayden presented us all with bags filled with several kinds of stuffed koalas. My kids were over the moon. You can really feel the warmth and love from this tour group, and we are so glad we didn't go with our original pick. A day to remember with a group who is passionate about their work and the area in which they live.

We had a wonderful day with Shawn as our guide who was very informative about the area and passionate about their life experiences in the Blue Mountain area. The breakfast outdoors and lunch at a small village cafe was great. We learned a lot about what these folks have been going through with the bush fires and our hearts go out to them. The agenda definitely made the trip well worth it with the cable rides up at the Three Sisters area, the animal park and the boat ride through Sydney Harbor all included. Very first class and would highly recommend!! The owner “Chappo” was so friendly and fun to talk with!

We visited the Blue Mountains with this tour. I was worried about the timing of our trip (January 2nd, amid the bushfires and the peak in holiday season), but the guide managed this perfectly. We were a group of 23 people only, and amid the huge busses visiting the places, this is a really small group. While driving to the Mountains, we got a lot of very interesting information from Sean, about the history of the places, about the flora and fauna, and about the actual situation with the terrifying bushfires. It was clear that Sean knew what he was talking about, and the small stories about his childhood growing up in the area, made it all very personal and touching. The national park where breakfast originally was planned, was closed due to the fires, but they had set up a great barbecue breakfast in a local park. Sean timed the visits to the different places such that we each time arrived before the crowds, so we got to see wild kangaroos, had lunch in time, visited the small rainforest and the Featherdale park when it was not (yet) too crowded. He stopped the van along the side of the road to explain us the impact and the scale of the actual fires and compared them to 'more normal' fires etc etc. It was really amazing! At the end of the day, we were guided to a shuttle boat, and we enjoyed a lovely 40 min cruise/ride over the river back into Sydney. Nothing could have been better! We really loved this trip and it's one of our highlights of our holidays. Thanks Sean! And take care!!

Guide was enthusiastic and shared a lot of local knowledge about the place, the plants and the animals. Unfortunately, the bushfire and the smoke prevented us from having breakfast in the Aussie bush (supposedly with Kangaroos). The view at the echopoint was disappointing due to the thick smoke. I can barely see the three sisters, while the rest cannot be seen (tough luck). The tram rides in the Scenic world were great, but as said, can't see anything beyond 50 metres due to the smoke. The guided walk tour was great. Lunch was good quality. Featherdale widelife park was nice though time was a bit limited (as expected). There should be a ferry ride back to Sydney at the end of the trip but the company couldn't secure tickets. The guide politely explained the situation to us and apologized, and then drove us back to Sydney instead. I am disappointed about this part. Overall, it's a nice tour. Just not the best time to visit blue mountains amidst bushfires.

rachaelh423 December 2019

We had a fantastic day with this tour. Hayden was an incredible guide and such fun! His local knowledge meant the day ran so smoothly - we even got to see kangaroos in the wild - amazing!

brinconwy December 2019

Friendly and well organized. We enjoyed everything. From breakfast, the Three Sisters lookout, the tour below the ridge line with the old coal mine and an incredible, natural botanical garden to the nearly vertical railway and the cable car ride and lunch were all excellent. The kangaroos, wombats, koalas, crocodile, emus, and so many birds were fascinating. Chapo's tales of early Australia kept us entertain on the one hour bus ride from Sydney to the Blue Mountains. Most of the first settlers were 'criminals' from London. Some guilty only of stealing a loaf of bread for a hungry family.

Dire76 December 2019

These guys did a great job making sure everybody had a good time and went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. We took the tour as a family of 8 and everybody thought it was a great experience seeing kangaroo in the wild, visiting featherdale to get a picture with a koala, and taking a hike to see some of the local fauna and flora. Wish we would have arrived at featherdale a little earlier to spend more time there but otherwise felt like there was a lot packed into the day and made good use of the time. Thanks Graham and Hayden!

WOW! What an amazing tour. From the moment Hayden picked us up we felt like family. Nothing was too much trouble. The tour itself was fantastic. I saw my first kookaburra that wasn’t in a zoo! Breakfast was very tasty and the friendliness shown by Graham and Alex was above and beyond. Listening to the “oohs and aahs” from the visiting tourists as they saw a kangaroo for the first time was priceless. I couldn’t fault this tour at all. Everything is thought of and you are treated like royalty - but most of all you become part of the Blue Mountains Tours family. If you are an Aussie or visiting from overseas - put this tour on your bucket list - you will not regret it.

After an on time pick-up, were driven up to a camp ground for breakfast. On the dive up, Sean our guide, took us off the beaten path to spot wild kangaroos (of which we did). Once at the campground, we were served a delicious breakfast cooked up on the BBQ by Graham and Alex. Off we went to a lookout to see the 3 Sisters and enjoy the view then over to Scenic World to take to cable cars high above the forest floor and then take railway car back up. We stopped at another look out on the opposite side of the mountain but the smoke from the bush fires was pretty thick, still interesting to see though. On the way Sean took our lunch order and called it in to the restaurant so after leaving the lookouts and arriving at the restaurant there was really no waiting for lunch to be served. After lunch we headed to Featherdale Wildlife Park to check out the many, many indigenous animals and walk amongst the kangaroos. After all is said and done, it was a long day, but a great day. Sean was very personable, very knowledgeable, and a great guide. Highly recommend this tour.

Kim_R November 2019

Our Blue Mountain tour was amazing! We were picked up right on time in a nice clean van. Unfortunately there was fog/haziness during our tour so we were unable to visualize anything at Scenic World. We loved seeing the kangas, wallaby, cockatoo and magpies during our delicious breakfast. I would have loved to stay longer than 1 hour at Featherdale but otherwise everything was perfect!

Lori M November 2019

We explored many options deciding on a smaller more private tour. The concierge at the Hilton recommended Blue Mountain Day Tours. Our driver, Hayden, was waiting for us about 10 minutes early so we got off to a get start. Off we went to spot kangaroos. The drive was very colorful as Hayden is a great story teller. His knowledge of Aussie history mixed with dry wit made the whole trip enjoyable. He drove us to his childhood grounds where we encountered our first kangaroo spotting. Within minutes he had us walking some fields and sure enough plenty of young kangaroos and even a mother with a Joey in the pouch. He herded them towards us for great photo and video opportunities. Then off to breakfast in the National Park where Graham, the owner and Alex his son had prepared a lovely meal. We were in a clearing where cockatoos and other birds roamed. The cockatoos came right up to us even jumping up on my bent knee and eventually my shoulder. Our next stop was Echo Park. Spectacular views. Then the short drive to our next stop, Scenic World, where we rode 3 different rides. While the other tour operators were hanging by their motor coaches, Hayden escorted right to the front of the line. He knew everyone and they treated us royally. He stayed with us providing narrative on everything. Then off to lunch. Good food waiting for us as he had called our order in. Because we were a small courteous group that valued each other’s time, we were ahead of schedule so off to another extra stop to view the canyon. After that we were off to Featherdale Wildlife Park. Another great experience where Hayden provided great assistance. Once done there, and because all of us were timely, no stragglers, Hayden took us to the 2000 Olympic Village. He drove around telling us about all the venues. Lastly he took us to the dock for our ferry ride back. Once again he knew everyone and walked us right up. It was like the ferry was waiting for us as once we boarded they shoved off. Can not believe how well this company treated us. No big bus, tour guide taking us to front of the lines versus staying at the vehicle as we saw with all other operators.

DayTrip463097 November 2019

The Blue Mountains Day tour was awesome and comprehensive. We started the day with an on-time pick-up from our extremely knowledgeable, local guide, Hayden. We were able to spot an extensive amount of wildlife including kangaroos on our way to breakfast! Breakfast was set up at a campground- it was very good and we met Graham and his son, who helped cook/serve the meal. There, we encountered various bird species including magpies and cockatoos. As the day continued, we made stops to see the Three Sisters, Scenic World, lunch at a local pub, and Featherdale. Throughout the entire journey, Hayden shared Sydney and the Blue Mountain history and personal stories. We felt completely at ease as he was super friendly and professional. We were even treated to some of Hayden’s singing! Hayden made every effort to make sure we saw as much nature and wildlife as possible. We would highly recommend this tour- we learned so much and really enjoyed ourselves. Hayden and the Great Camping Adventures crew are fantastic.

This company is so good at what they do. They reply quickly to any requests for further information on their trip and are really great to deal with. Sean picked us up bang on time and we were the first. So when all 13 were on board we headed for our first stop. Before this Sean had explained the situation with the drought bringing the dingos into the area with the result that the kangaroos had largely moved out and so he took us on a short drive to make sure we had a fighting chance of seeing kangaroos in the wild. We were fortunate to see some from a distance,. Off to breakfast. We loved the tranquility of that place with the various species of birds around us. It felt authentic. Thank you Alex for the breakfast and lovely company. Then we were off to the three sisters look out and following on to scenic world. One word is needed WOW. Ita amazing. Another lookout followed before lunch at a local pub. Back on the road again to Featherdale and our first glimpse of koalas. Followed by a drive through Olympic village and the anz stadium. A stadium we have seen so many times on to as we are rugby league fans. And finally a ver pleasant return to the city via the paramatta river. What we liked about this trip was it must be one of the only ones we have done where there is a stop to sell you done thing - pottery, wine etc and this was so appreciated and refreshing. The only thing joy were selling was the great Australian scenery. Thank you.
