Discover Australian native animals including koalas, crocodiles, and penguins with your entrance ticket to the Featherdale Wildlife Park, located just a 45-minute drive from Sydney. The park features a natural setting that is home to more than 2,000 critters. Enjoy informative and entertaining wildlife presentations throughout the day, plus a cafe and picnic areas with barbecues. It’s a great stop en route to the Blue Mountains or a perfect day out with the family, especially if you are selecting the additional option of the Koala encounter.
Visit: Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park, 217 - 229 Kildare Rd Doonside, Blacktown, New South Wales 2767 Australia

Make your own way by car or public bus to Featherdale Wildlife Park, situated 45 minutes by road to the west of Sydney on the way to the Blue Mountains. More than 2,000 native animals live on seven acres among native plants and trees.

Have the chance to hand-feed friendly wallabies and kangaroos under supervision by our talented keepers and take your photo near one of the many koalas that live here. Check out the Tasmanian devils, endangered due to the impact of a devastating disease in the past two decades. Or compare the park’s two wombat species: the Southern hairy-nosed wombat and the common wombat.

Explore 26 realistic exhibits in the Reptilian Pavilion where 40 different native species of reptiles reside. See lizards, turtles, crocodiles, pythons and venomous snakes among the scaly creatures in this display. Then check out the bird section where you can find festively feathered parrots, sleek waterbirds and endearing little penguins, large birds like emus and southern cassowaries, and more.

Feeding times and keeper presentations occur throughout the day and are detailed in the Itinerary below. Learn fascinating facts about the echidna, a mammal that is related to the platypus. Other talks feature the dingos, koalas, pelicans and flying foxes.

Why not add on the Personal Koala Encounter
Australia's most prized fluffy icon, an encounter with a Koala is a must-do experience during your Aussie stay. With this experience you can have an up-close encounter with one of Featherdale's adorable Koalas! Get up close and personal and have your photo taken by our expert photographers so you can take home a photography package, as the ultimate souvenir of your visit to Featherdale!

• The opportunity to meet a fluffy Koala
• Talk to our Koala keepers
• Take home a souvenir photo pack

Feel free to bring food to barbecue at the tree-shaded picnic sites in the wildlife park, or stop by the cafe for a pick-me-up. A souvenir shop sells mementos from the park.

The macaws were amazing, as was the back cockatoos!!! Your birds were amazing. The new walk through avary is wonderful and your kangaroos are so gentle

Lovely clean premises and enclosures...enjoyed Koala experience... surprised the number of species of wildlife and birds in the park and how close up you can get to them... very helpful staff and nice to have a cafe for coffee and snacks

Enjoyed seeing so many beautiful birds & the koalas were a highlight The farmyard enclosure consisted of pens some of which were a bit small but the animals seemed happy & were very friendly I was hoping to see a big crocodile but he was so small and half hidden All in all a great day out for an older couple & not too much walking involved Food at the cafe wasn't that good for what you pay & the coffee could be better but didn't have to wait long

Tamsin H May 2021

An amazing array of furry and feathered friends. All seemingly content in extremely clean enclosures with plenty to eat and entertain. Excellent day out.

Great experience. Generally a nice place to visit, especially with children. Good way to spend 2 to 3 hrs.

Took our three grand children to Featherdale Wildlife Park. Venue was very busy. Was impressed with amount of Australian birds and animals that were on show. The children enjoyed getting close to animals and birds.. The only problem was when I went to get some drinks and something to eat. There were not enough staff on duty especially as it was school holidays and the wait was much too long. The poor boy on the cash register was doing his best with no help. Even after ordering the wait was just as long to receive Evan a cup of coffee, Really need to look at this problem.

I give 5 stars to Featherdale wildlife park. A place where the visitors have the best experience whilst all the animals comfort and safety are never compromised. Staff are friendly + animals in clean natural environment = experience of a life time.

The café and toilets are really bad, meat pies in packaging heated in microwave, and toilets that haven’t been updated in decades. This park needs some love

A great place to see the wildlife of Australia up close and personal. We went as part of a day trip to the Blue Mountains with Anderson Tours and it was a great addition. We were able to experience the animals in a personal way and even feed the Kangaroo. Highly recommend spending some time at the Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park.

Easy to get to, lots of parking, arrived early with grandchild to attend the 20 minute free pre-booked hands on wildlife session for pre-schoolers where we met a tawny frogmouth and a woma python. This session enabled us to have a discounted $10 Pat a Koala Encounter which included a beautiful photo. We traversed the park along the pathways and met lots of the animals and birds, including animals not in enclosures. They enjoyed the food we had purchased to hand feed them. Staff were really friendly and helpful, from the lady at the ticket office to the staff tending to the animals and the lady working on her own at the cafe. The only downside is the pigeons stealing food from the animals and leaving droppings everywhere. Perhaps something can be done about this.

Great place to visit with the family especially with the young kids. Our kids are enjoyed with all the native Australian animals. Staff was very friendly, helpful and ready to provide any information. The location was very clean and nice cafeteria with the verity of food. We love to visit this place again.

Easy parking, wonderful staff, clean and organised and the most gorgeous wildlife (especially the Owls and Penguins)

The park is easy to navigate, most paths are sealed. Animals are easily accessed. for friendly feeding. We went with a nearly 3 year old and he had a ball. Fed animals, patted snakes, picked up feathers, patted sheep, watched the keepers clean out water troughs, followed the visiting school kids. We were there for about 3 hours and he was exhausted by then. A word of advice though, get the sandwiches toasted at the cafe. We got 'fresh' but, sadly, the bread was really dry. Maybe, also, the park could consider putting in some water fountains and water bottle filling stations around the park. If you are over on the far side and need water, it's a bit of a walk for a 3 year old who's thirsty to go back to near the entrance to the cafe.

I attended the Park with my 5 yo granddaughter and it was the best we'd ever been to. We both had a great morning especially first thing as all the animals were very active and so interesting. I noticed as we left around midday that most of the animals were quieter and less active then, after many being fed just before. The animals and birds are sympathetically enclosed and the whole experience is enhanced by the bush environment. I'm returning alone in a couple of months to have a more leisurely wander past the many bird enclosures.

We took our toddler granddaughter on a Friday. We were impressed with the park, animals, birds and amenities. The ability to see the animals so closely was amazing.

Excellent display of koalas - we especially loved the showing of female koalas with their babies. Great encounters with Tasmania Devils, vast array of birds and other native animals including echidnas and wombats. The one disappointment was the cafe. Cafe was not adequately staffed (making for a long slow queue) and food selection was very poor (sandwiches were white bread only). The food was also overpriced especially given the poor quality.

salnarroz June 2020

Great day with the family, really friendly staff. Animals appear to be well looked after. My 1 year old had the best time and learnt a lot by watching and interacting with the animals.

aussie1961 June 2020

We came to visit Featherdale especially to see to the dingo pups which was well worth the trip. Crowds were well managed and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The absence of overseas visitors made it very comfortable to walk around and see all the animals even on this very busy weekend. All the animals look relaxed and well cared for in clean enclosures with plenty of room for them to wander around. There are loads of koalas, kangaroos other marsupials with many opportunities to get up close. I particularly loved the gigantic hairy nose wombat. The dingo puppy experience was well worth it for the smile it put on everyone’s faces. Our only criticism would be that there is very limited food available. Would be great to see a better variety with some healthy options. Perhaps bring your own snacks ?

On 06th Jun 2020 it was our first visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park. We had an excellent experience with all the Australian native animals, feeding the Wallabies and Wombats and holding Koalas. The staff were all happy and helpful and obviously they enjoyed their work. The cafe makes fantastically good hot chips and it's worth a second visit just for a large chips. It was a clear blue sky 19C day and we spent 4 hours wandering around the park which is FLAT. No great hills to walk up & down. It was such an enjoyable day we are planning a 2nd visit in a month or 2.

Located in a suburb of Sydney, this animal park or mini zoo specializes in the unique Australian animals like kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, and many more, providing a comprehensive view of the local fauna.

Bob C March 2020

This is what a wildlife park or zoo should be like. Great access and views of all the animals. Staff always around to give infromation out. From feeding wallabies to photos with koalas, its great for adults as well as kids. Nice cafe and well stocked gift shop too. Free car parking and bus stops right outside.

dmcclung March 2020

Loved the family run touches to this well run park. Loved feeding the wallabies and Roos. Should have bought more food for the Roos later on. Loved the baby animal section and then all the koalas and Roos. Everything very well run and you can tell the animals are well cared for.

amandakoronkiewicz March 2020

What an AMAZING experience! The kangaroos and wallabies just walk right up to you if you have food. You can feed them and maybe even hold their hand! There are also so many other exhibits of the natural wildlife and creatures of Australia. The rangers that work here are very knowledgeable on all the animals and give various presentations throughout the day! The park is involved in many rehabilitation programs to protect the endangered animals which was incredible to hear about. I would go again whenever I go back to Sydney! It's also very easy to get to via public transportation (there's a bus stop just across the street).

kehk March 2020

I haven't been for maybe 10 years, but it seems bigger and better. The only change is paying for your koala photo, which is fair enough. Lots of indigenous species to see, ideal if you are a tourist or have visitors. Plenty of toilets, water, coffee and snacks. A great day out
