Really enjoyed the day. Phil was a really good driver and told us heaps of information on the way down and really looked after us. The cruise was great and the guy who looked after the front of the boat was really good. We saw whales and dolphins. Lunch was good at Port Arthur and got back to Hobart at 6. Did wonder why they didn’t drop back at hotels like the brochure- that was the only small thing we felt the should have done!

Thanks so much to all the great staff, particularly Chris and Willow who were our guides on the Tasman Island Tour. They were such great characters and made sure that we were comfortable during the whole trip. We saw whales and dolphins which were amazing. Could not recommend enough!

Our tour guide Luke was excellent and we would recommend going on this full day tour of the Tasman Peninsula with boat cruise to Tasman Island and Port Arthur visit. We were looked after for whole day with any of the experiences and well informed of all history and we’re lucky enough to see Whales of Tasman Island.

What an amazing day. Saw sights I had only ever dreamt of. Breathtaking views of ragged cliff faces, amazing wildlife and our guides were so informative. Would recommend this tour to all...but please dress warmly as it is bone-chillingly cold

Absolutely one of the best experiences we have been on. A great team, professional communication and overall a fantastic day! Thank you. Photos wouldn’t load sorry.

This was an incredible full day trip! The ocean was beautiful, we saw so much marine wildlife and the staff were so nice, our driver Luke was an awesome guy who really looked after us, and the meals included at port Arthur were great. We also learnt that company also uses their funds from the trip go back into wildlife conservation: pennicott tours successfully eradicated feral cats from Tasman Island! Thanks for an amazing experience we’ll never forget!

Such a fun day! This tour really gives you a variety of experiences. Phil our guide was very friendly and informative. We had a lovely morning tea at a cafe/animal farm and then made our way to our 3hr cruise, where we saw albatross, dolphins, whales and heaps of seals! We got up and close to the amazing sea caves too- which was an incredible experience. We went in winter so we definitely recommend to wear warm clothes for the cruise, but you are supplied a full length waterproof coat to wear as well. The Port Arthur experience started off with a lovely lunch and a short guided tour, then we had plenty of time to explore the historical site ourselves- which was full of fascinating history! Well worth it, we would definitely recommend this tour!

Absolutely amazing! We had Kane and willow on the Tasman island cruise who were personable and fun. Willows enthusiasm and kindness was so great to watch (Thank-you). We saw dolphins, seals and many seabirds. Well worth the trip

This tour is unbelievable. The scenery is out of this world and the customer service is professional and the guides so knowledgable. Captain Caine was dropping jokes the whole time and made it such a fun day. Our guide (I’ve forgotten her name but she was lovely) had so much knowledge about the scenery and animals. We saw seals, hump backs, albatross’, eagles and dolphins (who waited right until the end of the tour). So much natural beauty in this gorgeous part of the world. When we come back we’ll be doing more tours with this company. Outstanding!

Great tour! Phil was an awesome tour guide and very informative! The Tasman Peninsula tour was amazing but be warned it’s not quite a “cruise” more like a boat ride so you might get a bit sea sick if it’s choppy. We were lucky enough to spot humpback whales and a massive pod of dolphins which really added to the experience! Definitely wish we had more time in Port Arthur as there is so much to see and explore here but you can always come back the next day as the ticket pass is valid over 2 days.

The whole trip was memorable, the staff were great and friendly, and helped me in and out of the boat and bus due to my bad knee lol

We had a very enjoyable day on this tour. We did the 3 hour boat cruise in the morning/early afternoon and then spent the afternoon at the Port Arthur Historic site. Hands down the boat cruise was the absolute highlight of the day. Both Andrew and Damo were fantastic in their roles of Capitan and Tour Guide on the boat. We have done these type of tours in Europe including the island of Capri but this left all of them for dead. YOU MUST DO THIS AS PART OF THE THIS TOUR. You’ll never forget it. The afternoon at Port Arthur was also good but our tour guide lacked badly in her job and my recommendation would be to look at this issue because she was very uninteresting. All in all well worth the money even just for the boat cruise. Also excellent lunch at Port Arthur. Well done. Another great day spent in Tasmania.

A day trip full of great experiences. We saw lots of dolphins, seals and humpback whale. Staff were all amazing from the information centre, to our tour driver, boat team as well as the tour guide in port Arthur. Thank you al!

Amazing day out - the trip down the coast to Tasman Island was spectacular! Loads of wildlife and incredible scenery - was a bit brisk, but still very comfortable even with a slight bit of swell in the Southern Ocean. The boat trip took about three hours - the remainder of the day is taken up heading to Port Arthur, which is a well preserved convict treasure - 3 hours here was not enough time to see it all, but still more than enough as this is a big day (with all of the driving down the Tasman Peninsula). Brilliant service and a must do when in Tasmania.

Our bus driver Phil was an absolute legend for starters, the food is fantastic, the boat tour is amazing and the history of port Arthur is fascinating. Definitely would recommend for anyone thinking of doing this tour, you will not be disappointed.

Great day trip from Hobart, loved it! Staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Very lucky to see a big group of dolphins and seals on the cruise which was an absolute treat. Port Arthur is a must see as well, fantastically preserved site with some fascinating local history brought to life and beautiful views of the country.

samuelaA9149HO April 2021

The boat ride was an adventure and the skippers went their to show us wildlife. They showed concern for everyone and even offered seasick tablets. The cliff face was amazing

Vanessa_A April 2021

It was so worth it for the package that I purchased! I wouldn't have been able to do this otherwise as I was travelling solo with no car. Lunch was included and I feel like I really saw some of the best Tasmania has to offer all in the space of 12 hours. So good if you're hoping to tick these sights off your bucket list! :)

We chose to option of the Tasman Island full day tour including the Port Arthur Historic site. The whole day from start to finish, totally enjoyable. The day starts from the Pennicott Wilderness Booking Centre on the Hobart waterfront. The bus leaves around 0745 for a scenic drive, with the first stop at the Lavender farm for a welcome cup of coffee and home-made scones. Following this, 1000 and it is time to board the boat for a cruise. There is a bit of a walk down to the boat , which could be a concern for any-one with mobility issues. As per instructions, dress warmly. The red over jackets, one size fits all offer good protection from the elements. I suggest sunglasses to help protect eyes from the wind. If problems with motion sickness, taking something prior the cruise recommended. The cruise delivers on all it's promises. The scenery is breathtaking. While no whales, plenty of dolphins for company, along with the albatross and seals. While the ride choppy at times, the boat is well designed to cope with the swells, and we felt completely secure and safe. Following the cruise, it was a short bus ride to Port Arthur, where a basic but generous lunch supplied. Following lunch, we joined a guided tour, which we would recommend. There was also an option of another small boat cruise, but we chose to explore the area on our own. Port Arthur is a beautiful setting and it was a lovely way to step back in time. At no time did the day feel rushed. From Port Arthur, it was a relaxing bus trip back to Hobart. Thank you Pennicott for an amazing day.
