Pennicott Wilderness Journeys gave us red carpet service all day. Our driver Mani provided exceptional service - NOTHING was too much trouble and his knowledge was attentiveness was way beyond expectations. The day was seamless and thoroughly enjoyable.
There was an included cuppa and muffin for morning tea.
The cruise was an unforgettable adventure: the coastline is stunning, rugged and utterly majestic. We had dolphins racing alongside our boat, saw seals, albatross, mutton birds, gulls, sooty oystercatcher and more. Our boat captain went out of his way to ensure a safe and comfortable ride and gave both sides of the boat equal opportunity for photos of the spectacular rock formations along shoreline and stopped for us to see some of the highlights and to watch the dolphins frolicking. The hostess checked constantly that we were safe and okay and offered a good commentary and readily answered questions. She was always smiling and enjoying the sights as much as we were.
From there we visited the Port Arthur former penitentiary site, where we were provided with an excellent included lunch. The service was very friendly and prompt. We did the included tour by an expert guide and explored at leisure for a couple of hours more.
All in all there the itinerary was outstanding and there was nothing more that could have done to provide a more wonderful experience.
Can't recommend this tour highly enough.
Many thanks to the team!
Definitly worth it. The cruise is long and is a true adventure (dont forget to put warm clothes even if hot weather and please note you will be a bit wet by the ocean waves, whatever your place on the boat. if you are on the three first raws, you will have the foot in the water, plan shoes procteded for water). The port arthur is nice to visit too, i found the time we got, enough to visit. Perfect day, perfect timing. We just regret no dolphins, but seals are here.
That is an amazing day trip. Michele is out tour guide. He did out trip very well. I had full cruise trip from Eaglehawk neck to Port Arthur. I saw lot of seals and Dolphins. Amazing view of sea cliffs. Good tea and lunch with fresh ingredients.
This was a fun, interesting, and informative tour. The lavender farm was interesting. The boat cruise featured spectacular cliff views, and many seals on the rocks. And I learned a lot about the history of Port Arthur.
Great trip, well organised and delivered everything promised. Fantastic wildlife, esp. the dolphins and even a flying fish shooting over the boat
This trip combines Tasman Wilderness cruise with historic Port Arthur visit and in my view is the best of the day trips from Hobart!
We had magical experience in the 750 hp boat and saw the Dolphins swim, the fur seals jump and hump back wales spout! The pilots navigation into thin water inlets so close to the magically carved rocks from million of years of erosion was awesome!
The boat ride to the cliffs is awesome, breathtaking, I just loved it. Our guide Phil was very knowledgeable and and made the trip even more enjoyable.
My tour guide Phil was great! he was very knowledgeable and such a delight. It is a long day, but you are fed and hydrated and you get to see some great natural formations and wildlife. Port Arthur is eye opening and bigger than you might think, you definitely need to pick up the pace if you want to see everything,
This trip was brilliant. I sat at the front of the boat and enjoyed every minute. Fantastic cliffs and caves right up close and terrific speed sessions between wonderful photo opportunities. Then in the afternoon, fascinating Port Arthur, just wish we had a bit more time there. The lunch was good too.
The boat trip was amazing the coach driver was great gave us lots of interesting information the morning tea and lunch was great the whole day went so well gave us a break from driving from place to place the only thing we would do different is to tour Port Arthur on our own the group we were in was too big and I think the tour guide got a bit overwhelmed, grab a guide and google any information you want. Great day really enjoyed it.
3 Hour boat ride good lunch and prison visit. People were great to deal with and made it a very enjoyable date. Well worth the money.
Very successful day for my son and me. Interesting information from our bus driver. Very well looked after on the boat trip and amazing sights. All round a trip well worth it
The cruise was my favourite experience in Australia thus far. I thought I might rather hike, as I am an active person, but the view of the peninsula from the boat is unmatched. Beautiful exciting, and very well-planned excursion.
Amazing! I have so many incredible photos, absolutely perfect day!! Boat ride was spectacular, lavender farm was gorgeous and Port Arthur amazing! Thankyou
The journey round Tasman Island was one of the most exciting boat trips that I have ever enjoyed, while the visit to Port Arthur was both dignified and informative as regards such aspects of the penal settlement as solitary confinement and also the 1996 tragedy.
very good timing and arrangement.
The 3-hour eagle cruise trip is perfect with an eventful tour route along the coast. We are glad that a waterproof raincoat is provided on the boat to resist the wind. Totally excited to witness wild dolphins in action at the open ocean!
Plenty of time was allowed to explore Port Arthur as well.
Amazing! It was a great day! Pennicot Wilderness Boat ride was somehow bumpy but not excessive to be concern, the Tasman cliffs were spectacular, we saw many sea Lions, the crew did everything necessary to show us the wild life of the area, we were fortunate to see several albatrosses that we were told it was a gift to see them, because rearly they are in the area. A must if you visit Hobart.
After lunch, we continue to Port Arthur, It as an experience to be on such a historic site!
An amazing day, even when pouring rain for half of the day. The Tasman Peninsula is incredibly beautiful and the boat trip up the coast was memorable, for the wind and rain fortunately you are provided with a full length rain coat and in spite of that, for the amazing views of the cliffs, caves and coastline and the abundance of wildlife absolutely enjoying all of the good food in this area. Lots of birds cormorants were spectacular, sea lions and schools of dolphins flying through the water - it was like watching a National Geographic special. This becomes one of those once in a lifetime experiences you will never forget.
Details were well coordinated. The Tasman cruise was the highlight of my Australian trip. The Tasman sea is raw, wild and beautiful. Tour guides were well informed and friendly. I highly recommend this trip.
Amazing day out and really enjoyed the day.
One of the most amazing trips ever experienced. From the coach driver to the boat crew, from the hospitality to the historic Port Arthur site - a day full of education, adventure and inconceivable majesty of the Tasmanian landscape.
Truly outstanding! We had so much fun, The crew was engaging.
Fantastic day trip with great staff and highly recommended. If I could do it again however I would do it in two days as an afternoon is not enough to properly enjoy Port Arthur. I'd probably do the boat trip and the Devil Unzoo Day One and Port Arthur all day Day Two.
Fantastic day out! Excellent eco-cruise and spending the afternoon wandering at your leisure around Port Arthur was memorable.
