Fin was a great guide and provided a wonderful experience. As we made our way to the Daintree, he filled us in on Australian history, the growth and decline of the sugar cane industry, the flora and fauna of the region, and lots of other Aussie fun facts. We cruised down the Daintree river spotting various birds and admiring the lush greenery. We hoped to spot some crocodiles but due to the king tide, the riverbanks were flooded and no crocs were to be found. It wasn't for lack of trying as our guide for this portion of the trip worked hard checking all the usual places in search of some crocodiles.
Following the boat trip, we met back up with Fin for a ferry ride across the river and on to Cape Tribulation. On the way we saw a cassowary which was very cool. Lunch was terrific and the views at both Cape Trib and Bloomfield Track were spectacular. The walk through the rain forest was also very interesting. While at the swimming hole, Fin prepared some billy tea and provided samples of various local fruits. Nice, refreshing touch!
Great tour which I heartily recommend.

We were picked up in front of our Airbnb, no problems. Driver/tour guide was terrific. Very knowledgeable. Not even 20 people in the van. Very nice and intimate. Everyone was very friendly. Tour guide explained different nuts, fruits, and trees in the rainforest. He was excellent at history. He talked quite a bit about the different types of birds and animals in the rainforest. Very educational? Thank you so much, it was wonderful.

The tour was well designed and superbly guided. Gavin, the tour guide, kept us well informed as well as entertained - not an easy thing to do with a diverse group of people. He was not only knowledgeable but also clearly passionate about his subject - the nature of the area and its critters - and that made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. We loved every minute! Thank you, Gavin!

This started out to be a wonderful trip. Our guide, Gavin, was very knowledgeable and chatty and told us all sorts of interesting stories as we headed up the road. The river cruise was great and we saw a huge crocodile, among other interesting things. Unfortunately, due to the recent storms, there was a mudslide on the road ahead to the rainforest so we were unable to proceed. Gavin was really apologetic and took us to the Mossman Gorge, where we had a nice walk and he told us about all the plants we saw. This was not on the schedule, and he didn’t have to do it, but he was trying to make up for the missing part of the trip, even though it was totally due to circumstances beyond his control. We didn’t get lunch, because that was supposed to be in the rainforest, but we did have a lovely platter of exotic fruits. I would highly recommend this trip and Gavin as a guide!

Great tour!! Full day but every was entertaining, educational and beautiful. Really enjoyed our guide as they were knowledgeable and took care of us. It was wonderful being in a small group tour vs the big coach buses. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Great tour with Neville Prentis of Billy Tea Safaris. The tour has a lot of driving but it definitely worth it to see this beautiful landscape. Highly recommend!

Fin was an amazing guide with a lot of useful and interesting information. We fit so much into one day, yet it never felt rushed. Such fun feeding the wallabies.

Leabird October 2016

Early morning pickup, then a long ride to Daintree, stopping for coffee. The boat trip on the river was beautiful and the guides were good. we stopped to feed wallabies before eating steaks and salad prepared by our guides. went to a swimming hole, tasted tropical fruits and had Billy Tea. Then a short ferry ride and bus back to our pickup locations. Called Billy Tea Safaris.

Mark K September 2016

Once again the day was made special by excellent tour guide Matthew. We had a great day, saw some crocodiles and snakes and had the merest glimpse of a cassowary. Well worth doing in the small group.

Merewyn J February 2016

BEST DAY EVER!! Billy Tea Rain Forest tour is the best kept secret in Australia. This was the last tour we did on the last day of our trip and it was far and above the BEST. Small, comfortable, attractive 4 wheel drive buses driven by excellent guides we LOVE Uncle Neville. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better it did. Morning stop for coffee, tea and biscuits before the river tour, walks in the rain forest, a swim in a forest pool, tropical fruit tasting with 'billy tea' prepared the traditional way over a camp fire, a walk on the beach, a ferry ride, a stop for ice cream and a beautiful drive there and back. OH...and did I mention the incredible lunch prepared for us on the grill by our guides while we fed and petted wallabies. We cannot say enough about this tour and the tour company. If you are in North Queensland it is well worth the time and money.

Karen Y December 2014

Great tour - our guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable. The tour had a lot of enjoyable different parts to it - thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and tasting the different tropical fruits as well as the swim in the freshwater hole.

HammerDhai January 2014

A lovely day trip to Cape Tribulation. Start with the cruise tour, it is excited to find crocodiles hiding under the water and mangroves where they came in different sizes. The naturalist is good enough to brief the group with the life of crocodiles. Afterwards, it is forest broad walk into Cape Tribulation with another naturalist Cathy. It is very amazing to have her introducing the rainforest and wildlife inhabitants. She is v knowledgeable and has great passion for nature. It is also a v memorable experience to watch her imitating a bird calling in the wild and the bird called back (responding to her call). To Chinese, it is like nature and Cathy are united in one. Isn't is amazing!

Nicholas D November 2013

The intimate nature of this tour combined to the unique route the tour takes combine for a recommended experience. The buses are low-capacity and the guide was friendly. We took multiple photo opportunity stops and the food provided was good and provided opportunities to try new things.

Rob D October 2012

Excellent trip! Great narration by the guide. A lot packed into one day, but never felt rushed.

Joanne N August 2012

This was an amazing day. I liked the variety of things to do and the guide really knew is stuff so we learnt a lot about the area we were visiting. Obviously seeing Cape Tribulation was the best bit but I also really enjoyed swimming in the creek and the delicious BBQ lunch.
