Great 3 wineries we visited and a very nice lunch at our second one we visited .Only 3 on the tourer.
We had a wonderful day, it was a lot of fun and we loved that we got to see family owned and operates wineries. Our tour guide Paul was very informative and quite the larrikin. We had a great group of people and would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for a great day.
At the last minute my wife and I switched tours from the Barossa Valley to the Mclaren Vale tour with Paul (Bums on Seats Tour). It was a very enjoyable day. Went to three wineries , The first - Stevens Winery was one of the best wineries I have visited in Australia/New Zealand. The visit was hosted by the owner/operator who has decades of wine making experience. He was very interesting to talk to and made exceptional wines. Paul was able to find some wild Koalas to take pictures of and made a valiant attempt to find kangaroos (we did find some, but I think Paul was hoping to find more). I have read a few reviews that had negative comments about Paul and his humor - I did not have any issues and would say that Paul and his commentary (with injected humor) was what made the day as enjoyable as it was. I would highly recommend this tour (and I would assume the Barossa Valley tour would be similar).
Had a great day visiting wineries, chocolate factory and Maggie Beers! Peter was awesome, made the day fun but also very knowledgeable ! Great day !!
Great tour and would highly recommend. Our driver Dave was very accomodating and pulled out some cracker jokes to set the tone of the day. Visited some beautiful wineries and never felt rushed. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore the Barossa.
We had a great day on our Barossa Valley tour, great group of people and driver was very informative and entertaining
This tour was a wonderful way to explore the Barossa and meet the locals. Paul was the cherry on top of this experience. He was friendly and kept the group on theirs toes with his jokes throughout the day. He was flexible with the experience and catered to what the group wanted to do. Make sure to let him know your preferences and he will make sure to adjust the tour accordingly. This tour was a great value and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Very Friendly Driver, knowledge of the area was great. He was also flexible and checked where we'r wanted to go. All had a great time on the trip.
We had a smashing group. Peter our driver was funny, knowledgeable and extremely flexible and accommodating with the group. Really great day out had by all. Would definitely recommend!
The quality of the wines and wineries was a cut above the other wine region tours we have taken in Australia. The driver kept it going in a timely manner, even with people wanting to stop and shop.
Great trip with lovely small group. Driver Peter was good, full of local knowledge. Lunch option was awesome.... antipasto platter. matched with a local wine. Brilliant. Maggie Beer Farm Shop was awesome. Even got to meet Maggie. Great tour.
Great day trip to the Barossa! My sister and I went on this tour on Easter Saturday. We had a great time with our guide Paul - who added a sudden encounter with an awake and active Koala friend. We visited 4 wineries - my favourite were Kersbrook Hill surprised my taste with their cider! and Rusden The Malbec is unique finishing with a gin. Group was the best and we made new friends from Adelaide and Ireland. We didnt feel rushed but chilled out, enjoying our time with nice wine.
The tour was great! We sampled different type of wineries from Adelaide Hills to Barossa Valley. The different temperatures at different locations gave the grapes different characterization, made the tasting experience more 3-dimensional. Lunch was at a great place with great options and everyone ate to their fill. Overall a wonderful experience and an impressionable one too
We had an absolutely fantastic day ! I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in exploring the Barossa wine region, we went to great wineries good flexibility here because we were 6 people. Lots of fun, and great to learn more about the history of the region and South Australia.
We had a small group of 6 which meant we were able to sit at a table at the first two family owned wineries where the speakers were very knowledgeable and the wines were spectacular. Dave was a great tour leader and took us to a pleasant winery for lunch. We enjoyed the visit to Maggie Beers shop where we tasted some of her products. Thanks Dave.
This tour was fantastic. Dave our driver was very helpful and had a great knowledge of the area. We were lucky that all on the tour got on with each other. I highly recommend this tour as long as you have a sense of humour and want too have fun.
A wonderful day out. I chose this trip because of the small number of guests 5 on our trip which gave us options to tailor the destinations according to our interests. Our driver Pete was a wealth of knowledge about the area and clearly loves what he does and meeting new people. Also a good, safe driver. We were taken to a couple of scenic lookouts to get our bearings - the weather was ideal in late autumn. The selection of cellar doors for tasting was varied. Lunch and morning tea fabulous and visits to a cheese factory and chocolate manufacturer were delicious. Highlight for me was Maggie Beer's farm - fantastic that pretty much all her products could be sampled, and the bushland setting was beaut for a short stroll. All up a great day out.
As a group of six travelling together we were lucky enough to be the only ones on our day trip so we were able to tweek the itinerary a little by only doing 2 of the wineries and including a visit to Hahndorf. We all totally loved the experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and informative about the region and was helpful and attentive to our questions and requests. We started out looking for koalas on the outskirts of Adelaide but as they were obviously all on annual leave we headed further into the hills. Our morning tea stop at the German village of Hahndorf was fantastic - everything from the delicious food in the lovely cafes to the history of the buildings and the friendly people in the shops - definitely a 'must see'. The scenery in the Barossa is beautiful and dotted with quaint little villages so there's always something to see. We then stopped at 'Te Aro', a family-owned winery, to sample some of the local vino and were again impressed by the history of the business, the presentation by the owner and of course the quality of the wine. Our delicious lunch at 'Kies' which was included in the cost was at a wonderful little cafe filled with souvenirs and had a wine tasting shop attached. It was then on to Maggie Beers farm which also incorporates a lovely cafe and is filled with all of Maggie's products that you can sample. You can wander around the property which has peacocks and pheasants and a turtle-filled lake - I would definitely include this farm on your list. Our day started at 9.30am and we were back at our apartment around 4.30pm after an absolutely perfect day.
Had a fabulous day... small group with the 3 others I booked with. Sam was very accommodating with where we went, how long we stayed and advice with different places. Thanks Sam.
This tour was very interesting and well conducted.
Good driver informative and interesting tour.Enjoyed food and wineries and shopping.Small group so more friendly
I really enjoyed this trip. Dave the driver had a lot on information about everything and very passionate about his beloved Adelaide. What did disappoint me was we only had 15 mins at Maggie Beer Farm Shop so not enough time to enjoy it. We had a very nice lunch at Kies Winery which was very good value. We only had 15 mins at Beerenberg Strawberry farm shop so in my opinion we could of done Kersbrook Winery and Kies tasted a few less wines at each at it was lovely and extensive but other things like Maggie Beers could of started the trip earlier in the morning and spent more time there for it be more enjoyable
good day out not the best
We visited some lovely wineries on this tour and were delighted to go to Maggie Beer's. However the driver's sound system for commentary did
not work, he thought it was funny to scare wild kangaroos which we considered cruel, and he used crude language. Even when asked he would not tell us which vineyards we were going to and how the tour would pan out. He made a number of comments which put other people down. We would not use this company again.
