Excellent trip. Saw beautiful area, stopped at cheese factory, 3wineries, chocolate factory, and brewery. Excellent lunch at Southampton winery.
Stop at chocolate factory wastoo long. Really only. Need 15 minutes.
The guide (Giovanna) was very attentive and ensured we were entertained throughout the tour. The day went very quickly. Always approachable and very knowledgeable about the area and places we visited. Highly recommend the tour.
Sean the owner DK Tours was Awesome. He was very caring (let a guy go to the bathroom before the long drive out), told interesting stories, good sense of humor, played upbeat music, nice variety of wineries, and a great brewery to finish the tour. I've been on many tours (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, and US) This was the Best tour I have ever been on. I would to go again when back in Melbourne!
Despite the iffy weather, this wine tasting tour was totally awesome! Booked with Dancing Kangaroo tours and was not disappointed. The driver was Sean and he is also the owner/operator. He is a wealth of information regarding the area, history and vineyards/wines. His narration during the drive was far from boring! He's a natural speaker - full of facts delivered with fun and interest. Highly recommend this tour!
I was on this trip solo as my husband was at a convention but the group couldn't have been any friendlier! I knew from the moment our host Sean closed the doors of the van and set off that this was going to be a great day. Everyone was ready for fun and Sean saw to it that we enjoyed every minute, especially our time in the van between stops. Each stop was wonderful but I have to say that the meal was really fantastic.. So fresh and delicious in such a gorgeous setting. There was such a variety with the wine, cheese, food and chocolates. And Sean brings so much amazing energy to the day. It was worth every penny. Don't hesitate. If you like wine, food and fun you MUST do this trip.
Sean who owns and runs Dancing Kangaroo Wine Tours was so much fun. He knows and understands the Yarra Valley and his knowledge of wine making was excellent. He is very passionate about the YarraValley and wine, and it showed. Thank you Sean for a wonderful day.
We enjoyed our Christmas Eve wine tour. The guide was very welcoming and tried very hard to ensure that everyone had a good day. We enjoyed our lunch and the main places we visited. The wineries and the brewery were very good but I found the visit to the chocolate manufacturer to be very busy and a bit hectic. We did all enjoy our day and would recommend this tour.
Most enjoyable day in the beautiful Yarra Valley. Sean is an excellent guide who spent time with everyone on the tour Lunch was great as were all the sites we visited.
Tasted a lot of different wines, had a very nice lunch and a fun guide!
Fantastic tour. Great guide. Good food/lunch. If you plan to buy ice cream at the chocolate factory, share it with someone, single scoop is equivalent to 2-3 normal scoops.
Great tour, with a great host - Shaun from Dancing Kangaroo Tours.
Small tour group, everyone mingled and good variety of places visited.
The tour guide was the best part! He has a great energy and great personality that is wonderful! There are plenty of tastings at each place so 3 wineries was plenty:)
This was a great tour! I loved getting to see Yarra Valley. Sean was a great driver and guide. The wineries were fun to visit and the food stops were great as well. I would do this tour again and recommend to everyone who likes wine.
This would have to be one of the best day tours we have experienced.Sean, our guide, was amazing and made the whole day more enjoyable. He was so knowledgeable about the region and did his utmost to look after us all, fabulous experience. Thank you, Sean.
Was a great day out thank you so much Sean! Very informative, and professional... would definitely recommend Dancing Kangaroo Tours...
Sean, our guide who also owns this particular tour company pours his heart into this experience and is quick to share his wide-ranging knowledge about the wine industry and about the countryside. His positive energy made him a joy to be around and his timing of our stops throughout the day kept the wine tastings enjoyable as he mixed in the visits to the cheese shop, pizza lunch, and chocolate shop. It was a totally enjoyable, memorable day!
We chose this tour because it offered more than just wine stops. Sean, our driver and guide, was humorous, knowledgeable and enthusiastic as he provided info about wine production and each winery, plus so much more. The smaller bus size meant we got to learn a little about the other passengers too.
We had a great day out. Enjoyed all the wineries and Brewery we visited. Shaun our tour guide was lots of fun and was very knowledgeable about the wines and the area we went to.
Great day out. Thoroughly recommend it.
I can not recommend this enough. Sean is a bundle of energy, a great tour guide with heaps of knowledge and passion for the area. Im from NZ and we know our wines, I was so impressed with the vineyards we went to - a fantastic mix. The dairy, chocolate and final stop for beer/cider tasting really made this a fantastic day.
The next morning I met two kiwis who had just arrived, we got talking about what to do - so naturally I said to go on the tour. They headed to the info center to book!
Thanks for a fun day.
Loved this tour. It felt very personal, and even tho Johnson runs this trip most days, he managed to make us all feel like we were his friends and family. The wineries were all high quality and the wines were varied and good. It's a good value for money day out without feeling rushed.
This was a really wonderful day. Sean, our tour guide was completely focused on everyone having a good time. Every vineyard we went to was a small boutique family run business. The people were as fun as the wine was good. Each one had its own story and Sean eagerly shared their stories. The countryside was gorgeous and pastoral. The dairy had cheeses that were totally yummy. The chocolates were as beautiful look at as they were delicious to eat. Our last stop was a brewery with a lovely ambience and casual places to sip on your beer. Everything about the day was perfect. Thank you.
We had a good experience on this tour. Our tour guide, Giovana (a.k.a. “G”) was a high energy person and very friendly. In addition to the four wineries, we also stopped at a working dairy farm for a cheese tasting (very good), a Chocolate factory (Yarra Valley Chocolaterie), and the Coldstream Brewery to taste four beer samples and two cider samples – all good.
Unlike another Yarra Valley Wine Tour we took this week, Giovana did not provide information about the area or its history as we drove from stop to stop, this may have been helpful and informative. Also, her driving was a bit aggressive for our liking = many times as we took a turn in the road, it didn’t feel like she slowed down and we held onto seat-back handles to keep our place. . . when driving a van/bus full of people may want to make the drive a bit more comfortable.
