The after dark feeding tour is an experience that is unique to Devils@Cradle. This tour provides an unforgettable experience, and the opportunity to observe these extraordinary animals whilst one of our keepers gives you a greater understanding of them, and details the conservation work being undertaken within the facility. Devils and quolls are primarily nocturnal species, therefore are far more active at night, and the introduction of food generally stimulates some fierce competition between them. We use environmentally sensitive lighting and focus on the social interactions and feeding habits of these unique carnivores, allowing visitors a rare up close opportunity of seeing Tasmanian devils in a group feeding situation - quite a spectacular sight!

Wonderful experience. Arrived about an hour earlier and wondered around learning about the Devils and Quolls until the feeding experience started. The knowledge and presentation given was brilliant and I recommend anyone staying in the area to make the tour. Although ours was the after dark, with daylight saving it was still daylight but that didn’t make a difference to the experience. So much Happening with the conservation of these and Rory was a wonderful guide telling us all about these and the Quolls which are also endangered.

Get there before the tour commences and walk around the area to view the animals in the light and take some photos. It is a very interactive experience where you learn about the animals - Tassie Devils & quolls and see them being feed.

Prue gave us a wonderful insight into the life of devils covering conservation to breeding to feeding. I highly recommend this tour for devil enthusiasts.

Absolutely incredible THANK YOU PRUE !!! We did the Joey encounter which gave us the experience to actually pat a Tazzie Devil, Quoll and the cutest wombat named Pancake ♥️ We followed on with the After Dark tour (which can be extremely cold in winter so layer up!) but Prue was extremely knowledgeable, welcoming and had a good sense of humour. An amazing experience that is a must for everyone -10/10

We did the after dark tour, it very cold and wet, but the zoo itself was fantastic. Very informative tour, got really close to the animals, seeing them feeding was just incredible. Nice warm room to wait in and a good gift shop.

Absolutely amazing. Kids loved the after dark feeding experience. The guide was awesome - she had some amazing info. We stood at the fence and the devils stood up on their hind legs looking up for a feed, so were about 2 feet away. The staff are doing amazing work with the devil facial cancer and preservation of the species.

What an experience! I absolutely loved it, the guide was very informative. It is not only about the Tassie Devil but the Quolls. Excellent work that this conservation is doing for these threatened Australian species. Worth the money but book quickly as it was sold out.

We went Sat 26th and it was raining and cold. The rain then turned to sleet. Even with these conditions this tour was amazing and informative. The kids got extremely close to feeding Tasmanian devils and quolls. This tour is a must!!!!!

Definitely a must do when visiting Cradle Mountain. Our guide was great & very informative on our after dark feeding tour of the Tasmanian Devils & Quolls, I'd recommend visiting !

We visited Devils@Cradle last night to experience these creatures up close and personal.Wow what an experience, despite the pouring rain it was great to watch these critters playing and fighting over the food.Lots of interesting lessons from our guide Rory .A must do

CodyMav May 2021

Come feeding time, these critters get noisy and entertaining, so this "after dark" tour (held at dusk) was a sensational way to see the Devils in action. Very well done.

Totally captivated by the amazing care [almost love] provided by the dedicated volunteers to all the fabulous devils & quolls in their sanctuary - so taken with the amazing facility i have paid up for my two grandkids to 'adopt' each for themselves their own endangered 'cutie' - looking forward to watching this unique facility continue to provide the best possible future they can provide to ensure the preservation of these unique ozzie creatures.

Brilliant night time feeding tour with the devils and quolls. The guy who did the tour was amazing and very informative! Really enjoyable.

I've seen devils in the wild (though not for some time) and this is about as close to that as you can get. I've been to other wildlife parks and to Devils at Cradle during the day, but seeing a sleepy devil in daylight is nothing like seeing them active and loud (!) as they run around and feed. The quolls were very cute as well, especially the one who ran down a branch to get within 1 cm of my nose (through the wire). The guide was really friendly and informative and I learned a few things I didn't know before, including the huge pademelon population in Tasmania. This is a great experience and I'd highly recommend the night tours and feeding if you want the full effect.

As it had just snowed at Cradle Mountain most of the trails had yet to be cleared and the shuttle bus to Dove lake wasn't operating. As a result we were grateful that we had already pre-booked the tour after dark feeding tour at Devils@Cradle. As we were uncertain about the road conditions on Cradle Mountain Road we arrived early - this allowed us the opportunity to wander around the enclosures at our leisure and take plenty of good photos of the juvenile devils roaming around in the snow. The tour group was relatively large which made it difficult at times to get a good vantage spot but our guide was really informative and engaging. The opportunity to get so close and watch them feed was absolutely amazing. The conservation work that they do in maintaining and sustaining a healthy viable devil population across Tasmania should be applauded as well as their work with spotted and eastern quolls. This is a must do activity if you are in the Cradle Mountain area.

Staff very knowledgably Up close and personal Animals very well cared for Doing something to help an endangered species

Raymond_S April 2021

What a great experience learning all about how they are saving them from extinction and seeing how they live is amazing

AllLoveMummy April 2021

excellent knowledgeable guides who host the tours. It was freezing and snowing/sleet during the tour but it was still brilliant for kids and adults alike to see the devils and quolls up close. Much better than Taronga or other zoos. You don't get to see so many or so close at those venues. highly recommended

Inspire372595 April 2021

They were so informative about all of the ANUM maps and you could tell they really cared about them. The devils were cute as and they quolls were adorable!!!

S P March 2021

Booked this on a whim after a recommendation from a fellow traveller. Did not regret it. Definitely go a bit earlier and you can watch the devils prior to the feeding to your hearts content. The messages and the education is very clear and valuable and the work they are doing is fantastic. We had a wonderful night!

Great commentary. Helpful staff. Interesting displays. Plenty of Devils to see for all. All animals look happy and well kept.

kathleenrB1143BK October 2020

Easy to take some beautiful photos of the animals. Animals are so healthy and well cared for. Tour guide gave wonderful commentary. Great natural environment for the animals. Congratulations on a wonderful project. Fell in love with the Devil cub!

397eddier September 2020

Tour booked for 5.30, told to arrive early as entrance also allows access to park. Our guide Prue was excellent, extremely knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm. This park is at the forefront of the Devil programme for survival of the species following devastation from the Devil Facial Tumour Disease DFTD. They are going fantastic work with quolls also which are endangered too.

Toto200 August 2020

Fantastic experience. Learnt a lot about the devils and quolls. The staff member was excellent and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit especially at night.
